In week 3 action:

  • Kramerica picked up its first win of the season, handing DDT its first loss. This is Kramerica’s first win over DDT since their first-ever matchup in week 3 of the 2003 season. This is the fifth regular season meeting between the two clubs. All five of those meetings have come in weeks 3 (3) or 14 (2).
  • SaaBB defeated Camel Toe in their first ever meeting to improve to 2-0 in division play.
  • Post Mortem remained undefeated with a 10 point victory over CSPJ. PM leads the all-time series 3-2.
  • Led by Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb, the Jedi Masters beat Double D in a high-scoring affair. TJM leads the career series 5-2, but owns the regular season matchup, 4-1.
  • TKD scored 110 points, but still fell to 0-3, losing to Hedfullalicker and their 156 point outburst. TKD can take consolation in still leading the career series, 9-3. For Hedfullalicker, this was their first victory over TKD since 2004.
  • SIAP improved to 2-1 (both overall and in division play), with a thumping of Turd Ferguson. This was SIAP’s first win over Turd since 2004, but they lead the all-time series 8-6.
  • Winning Beer Money remained undefeated with a 57 point win over winless The Hip. WBM still trails the career matchup, 6-4.

Week 3 Records & Milestones

  • Three of the top 10 week 3 performances of all-time happened this week. Hedfullalicker’s 156.4 is the best ever week 3 score, while The Jedi Masters come in third and Winning Beer Money places 8th.
  • The 266.98 combined points in the Hedfullalicker – TKD matchup and 261.29 scored by The Jedi Masters and Double D are the #1 and #2 most combined points in a single week 3 game ever, respectively.
  • WBM’s 56.87 point win is the sixth largest victory margin in a week 3 game.
  • Brian Westbrook (46.1), Ronnie Brown (44.1), Kevin Curtis (43.1) and Donovan McNabb (36.75) rank as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 10th highest scoring week 3 starters in the player stat era (2004-2007).
  • Brett Favre’s 33.55 points is the second most wasted by a benched week 3 player since 2004. Javon Walker’s 39 points were wasted by The Hip in 2004.
  • Hedfullalicker’s big point total is the 7th most points scored in any game during any week in PFFL history.
  • Double D’s 117.66 point total is the 6th most ever scored in a losing effort.
  • The Hed-TKD and TJM-DD games rank as the 3rd and 6th highest scoring games in PFFL history.
  • The Hip has now lost 7 straight games, from week 11 of last year through now. That’s tied for the 6th longest multi-season losing streak ever.
  • The Hip is now tied with WNFL for the most career regular season PFFL losses with 73.
  • Brian Westbrook’s point total is the 3rd best since player stats started being kept in 2004.

PFFL Survivor

Hedfullalicker was eliminated from Survivor last week, so week 3 point scoring runner-up The Jedi Masters has immunity for week 4. The unlucky team this week? Camel Toe, who scored only 60.97 to earn the boot.

The Recap Babe this week is Hayden Panettiere, the indestructible cheerleader of Heroes fame. She’s 18 now, so this is totally not gross.

Week 3 Transaction Report

87914_001_122_703lo.jpgHighlights of Week 3′s blind bidding session:

  • Double D went big for Green Bay’s 3rd down back, DeShawn Wynn, spending $309 for his services. The next highest bid was 212 by The Hip.
  • CSPJ spent $273 on Joe Jurevicious, who just might be 73 years old. TJM wanted him for $80.
  • The Jedi Masters picked up David Garrard for $200. Post Mortem, CSPJ, The Hip and DDT all wanted him.
  • CSPJ also was the highest bidder for Brandon Stokley, at $89. They could have had him for free.
  • The Hip added Ryan Grant (who might be Green Bay’s 4th string back), and they’re not even Packer fans. It cost $68 and no one else even had Grant on their list.
  • The Jedi Masters added Dennis Northcutt for $60. Similar to the Ryan Grant situation, no one else really wanted a guy named Dennis on their team.
  • Roydell Williams was added by The Hip, and Derek Anderson went to Post Mortem. Both went for $53. Both were won unopposed.
  • Jeff Reed (for $21!) and Nick Folk ($2) were the kickers picked up this week.
  • DDT got the Raiders Defense and Turd Ferguson added Donald Lee.

Erica Durance is this week’s Transaction Babe. You can catch her as Lois Lane when Smallville kicks off its new season.

cheerleaders-gm_l1.jpgIn this week’s games:

  • SaaBB got their first win of 2007, dropping Kramerica to 0-2. SaaBB is now 5-0 all-time against Kramerica.
  • CSPJ needed a fourth quarter touchdown from Clinton Portis, but squeezed out a high-scoring, close victory over Camel Toe. Both teams are now 1-1.
  • DDT remained undefeated with a win over winless Hedfullalicker to improve their career record against ‘licker to 5-4.
  • Double D stayed hot, improving to 2-0 with a win over 0-2 Tappa Kegga Day. The win continues their keg dominance, as the all-time margin is now 6-1 in favor of DD.
  • Post Mortem and The Jedi Masters battled in one of their typical high scoring matchups. Post came out on top to move to 2-0, while TJM is now .500. PM now leads the career series 9-7.
  • Winning Beer Money stayed undefeated, handing SIAP its first loss of the year, and improving their lead in the all-time series to 9-4.
  • Turd Ferguson notched their first win of the year, sneaking past winless The Hip by 5 points. Turd continues to dominate the career matchup, 7-3.

cheerleaders-gm_l3.jpgWeek 2 Records & Milestones

  • Duany Duany Tanning became the fastest team in PFFL history to record 50 regular season wins. By accomplishing the task in 86 games, DDT snuck by previous milestone leader Post Mortem by a game.
  • Following Double D’s lead from last week, CSPJ became the latest PFFL club to score 5000 career regular season points. At 58 games, CSPJ is tied for 5th fastest to the milestone.
  • CSPJ also reached the 2500 division game points milestone. By taking 30 games to get there, they are tied for 8th quickest.
  • The 237.58 points scored in the CSPJ – Camel Toe matchup and the 229.36 scored by Post Mortem and The Jedi Masters are the 3rd and 5th most points scored in a week 2 game, respectively.
  • CSPJ’s 3.76 point win is the third closest week 2 game. SaaBB’s 5.25 and Turd’s 5.53 point margin are 7th and 8th on the same list, respectively.
  • The list of top week 2 player scores underwent a makeover this week:
    • Carson Palmer’s 44.05 is the most ever in week 2 by a starter at any position
    • Steve Smith’s 36.3 is 3rd most
    • Chad Johnson’s 35.9 is 4th
    • Jamal Lewis’ 30.6 is 9th
  • The -7.93 points scored by the Cincinnati Bengals “defense” is the second fewest points scored by a starter in PFFL history (The Eagles defense scored -8.07 in week 8 of 2005 for DDT)
  • Camel Toe’s 116.91 is the 7th highest point total in a losing effort in PFFL history
  • Carrying over from the end of last season, The Hip is currently riding a 6 game losing streak, tied for 7th longest losing streak ever.
  • Carson Palmer’s big day is the 5th best QB starter performance in the Player Stat Era (2004-)
  • Steve Smith and Chad Johnson are 8th and 9th on the all-time WR performance list based on their week 2 performances.

cheerleaders-gm_l8.jpgPFFL Survivor

Post Mortem barely held on to high points for the week (beating out CSPJ by only 0.78 points for the reward) and takes immunity into week 3. Hedfullalicker was not as lucky, as their 74.45 point performance got them booted off the island.

Site Updates… MFL GameDay…

Posted on September 18, 2007 by Post Mortem

I’m guessing y’all will enjoy this blog setup more if the links to the articles on the PFFL myFantasyLeague site open in a new window (or tab, depending on your browser setup). So, they now do just that. Plus, if the most recent article includes a picture, you’ll see that too (just like the old days!).

In addition, I updated the links just below the “Latest Posts” section. The Latest Preview/Recap/Txn Article links now direct you to the blog. The PFFL Survivor, Division Race, Wild Card Race and Finances links bring you to the PFFL Waymorefunner site.

Slick, right?

From this blog, you can also:

  • Comment on blog posts (you have to register on the site first — don’t worry, it’s just us PFFL-ers here)
  • Subscribe to get an email anytime a new article is posted
  • Write your own articles if you’d like (you also have to register to do this)

MFL Game Day is a slick little PC-based alternative to MFL’s web-based live scoring. Personally, this is the tool I use to monitor live scoring during the games — mainly because I can setup 7 leagues in it and flip-flop between them at will. Oh, and I love the NFL Game tab. You can download it here

If you want to read more about the tool, go to any myFantasyLeague page, and from the Help menu, select Detailed Help. From the Help page, select How To – Commissioner’s How To Guide – MFL GameDay Live Scoring How To.

02754_jodie_marsh_5_just_my_luck_uk_premiere_008_122_253lo.jpgSome highlights as we look ahead at the week 2 matchups:

  • Kramerica and SaaBB each seek their first win of the season as they meet for the 5th time in a series that SaaBB has completely dominated, compiling a 4-0 record.
  • Camel Toe looks to go to 2-0 as they meet up with CSPJ this week. The two teams split a season series last year.
  • 1-0 DDT and 0-1 Hedfullalicker meet for the ninth time. The series is even at 4 wins each, but DDT has won four of the last five.
  • TKD seeks its first win of the season against 1-0 Double D. DD has beaten TKD 5 of the 6 times they have met, including the 2005 PFFL Super Bowl.
  • The Jedi Masters and Post Mortem, both winners in week 1, resume their long-standing rivalry this week. Post Mortem leads the all-time series 8-7, although the two split their season doubleheader in 2006. In the last three meetings, the winning team has scored 114 points (plus some decimal pointage).
  • Two more week 1 winners, SIAP and Winning Beer Money, square off in the 13th meeting of a series that WBM has commanded to the tune of 8 wins and 4 losses.
  • A pair of week 1 losers, The Hip and Turd Ferguson, meet for the 10th time this week. Turd leads the all-time series 6-3, including a season sweep last year.

45716_jodie_marsh_nurse_3_123_737lo.jpgWeek 2 Records

The following week 2 highlights come from the PFFL records site

  • The most points scored in a week 2 game is 144, which has happened twice. In 1998, Post Mortem defeated Hedfullalicker, 144-79. In 2000, The Dark Side beat WNFL, 144-67.
  • Week 2 has been good for Post Mortem, which owns 3 of the top 10 week 2 scores.
  • In 2001, FMBucky beat Post Mortem, 132-126. The 258 combined points make this the highest scoring week 2 game in league history.
  • The Dark Side’s aforementioned 144-67 win over WNFL in 2000 and The Hip’s 134-57 victory over The Dark Side are tied for the largest blowout in week 2, at 77 points.
  • The closest week 2 game in PFFL history was a 1-point win by SIAP over FMBucky, 64-63, in 1999.
  • The most points scored by a starting player in week 2 of the player stat era (2004-2007) is 38.1, by Donovan McNabb, playing for DDT in 2005. (6 of the top 10 week 2 performances in the last three years have been QBs)

jj_mr_mh_001.jpgIn this week’s games:

  • Camel Toe started off 2007 much like 2006, winning a low-scoring game. They are now 3-0 all-time over Kramerica.
  • The Jedi Masters beat SaaBB for the first time since 2005, and now trails the all-time series, 6-8.
  • DDT beat CSPJ for the second time ever in their first division matchup.
  • Double D crushed Hedfullalicker by over 60, gaining some revenge from a 40 point loss to Hed last year.
  • Post Mortem notched its 6th win in 9 tries over Tappa Kegga Day. TKD’s last victory over PM was in 2003.
  • SIAP has now beaten The Hip 10 times (in 14 chances) and has outscored TH, 1355.91 – 1301.28 all-time.
  • Winning Beer Money is an impressive 9-2 all-time against Turd Ferguson. Turd has not beaten WBM in the regular season since 1999.

51582_michelleryanbritishsoapawards2004115_122_382lo.jpgWeek 1 Records & Milestones

  • Double D’s 146.46 point performance is the 2nd-highest week 1 total in PFFL history. (Hedfullalicker scored 165 in week 1 of the 1998 season)
  • The 232.53 points scored in Double D’s 146.46 – 86.07 win over Hedfullalicker is the second most points in a week 1 game.
  • Double D’s 60.39 point victory is the fourth largest week 1 victory margin.
  • Double D became the 14th member of the 5,000 Regular Season Points Club – and ties Hedfullalicker as the 3rd fastest to get there, taking 57 games.
  • The Minnesota Vikings Defense (Double D) scored 32.71 points, fifth most for an on-roster defense in the player stat era (2004-2007).
  • Tony Romo (WBM) scored 41.35 points, 9th most for an on-roster QB in the player stat era (2004-2007).
  • Plaxico Burress (Double D) scored 35.4 points, tied for 9th most for a starting WR in the player stat era (2004-2007).
  • Tony Romo’s point total was also the most scored by a starter at any position in a week 1 game in the player stat era (2004-2007).

33345_02_122_863lo.jpgPFFL Survivor

Double D’s high point week earned them week 2 immunity. Kramerica’s 52.92 points was lowest in the league and they are now out of Survivor (Turd Ferguson breathes a sigh of relief after their 53.2 point performance just misses elimination).

You can view the full waiver results here

Stacy Kiebler has an “ad” on Funny Or Die:
Strip-N-Shine

Some highlights from this week’s transaction results:

  • Post Mortem beat CSPJ by 30 (319-289) to get Derrick Ward
  • Antwaan Randle El went for 333 to SaaBB, the highest priced FA of the week
  • Camel Toe spent 200 for Sammy Morris. They probably didn’t need to as no one else bid for him.
  • Same story for Hedfullalicker’s $187 pickup of Shaun McDonald
  • The Indianapolis Colts defense cost TKD $103. Kramerica had bid 1, CSPJ 29.
  • Double D got Drew Carter for $151 — no one else’s bid was involved.
  • David Boston was actually still on someone’s roster. That has been rectified.

In more important news, the PFFL season also kicks off this weekend. Some highlights from the week 1 schedule:

  • PFFL Super Bowl champs Winning Beer Money battle Turd Ferguson for the 11th time in league history. WBM defeated Turd in the regular season and first round of the playoffs last year, and has won 4 straight regular season meetings en route to an 8-2 overall advantage.
  • Kramerica Industries battles Camel Toe. Camel Toe defeated Kramerica in both of their division meetings last season.
  • Sharp as a Bowling Ball and The Jedi Masters face off for the 14th time in PFFL history. SaaBB won both regular season meetings last year, and owns an 8-5 overall advantage.
  • After meeting annually from 2003-2005, CSPJ and DDT meet for the fourth time ever. DDT won the last meeting by 35.
  • Hedfullalicker beat Double D in week 4 last year by 40. This will be their secon-ever meeting.

  • The most combined points scored in a week 1 game happened in the first week of PFFL action. In 1997, Grady/Jochims defeated The Hip, 133-79, a total of 212 points.
  • Post Mortem’s 102-43 win over Tappa Kegga Day in 1998 is the largest victory margin in a week 1 game.
  • In 2003, CSPJ and Winning Beer Money played to the first and only week 1 tie, a 72-72 thriller.
