In week 7 action:

  • Double D won a fourth straight game, defeating Kramerica, to improve to 6-1. DD is 6-1 all-time against Kramerica.
  • SaaBB prevailed over Winning Beer Money in a high-scoring affair, settling both division leaders’ records at 5-2. WBM still leads the career matchup, 5-4-1.
  • CSPJ picked up their second win of the season over hapless The Hip. CSPJ now leads this all-time matchup 3-2.
  • Hedfullalicker extended their season-best win streak to two games by handing Camel Toe a 6th straight defeat. Hed leads the all-time series, 2-1.
  • Don’t look now, by TKD has won three straight. A win this week over DDT has both clubs at identical 3-4 marks. DDT still leads the career matchup, 6-3.
  • The Jedi Masters won their fifth straight to improve to 6-1, handing Turd Ferguson a fifth consecutive loss. Turd still leads the career series, 5-3.
  • SIAP improved to 5-2 with their second straight win, handing Post Mortem a second consecutive loss in the process. SIAP leads what has been a back-and-forth career series, 7-6.

Records and Milestones

  • WBM’s 118.86 points this week is the 6th most ever in a losing effort. Interestingly, three of the top 10 marks in this category have occurred this season.
  • Camel Toe’s current 6-game losing streak is tied for 4th longest single-season losing streak in PFFL history.
  • Tom Brady’s 44.7 point day was the 10th highest point total for a starter in the PFFL player stat era.
  • The Seattle Seahawk’s 32.42 point day is the 6th most ever by a defense on someone’s roster in the player stat era. Unfortunately, the effort was wasted on Hedfullalicker’s bench.
  • SaaBB’s kicker, Rob Bironas had the best day ever by a kicker on a team’s roster, with 29.5 points. Hedfullalicker’s Josh Brown notched the 9th best kicker performance ever with 20.4 points this week.

PFFL Survivor

SaaBB’s high point week earns them immunity for week 8. Meanwhile, time is up for DDT, eliminated after a 73.58 point week. We are now down to the final 7, four of whom scored over 100 points this week.

Division Races

  • SaaBB (5-2) appears to be in control in the East, as they are the only team in the division with a winning record, and have a win over each of their division foes.
  • In the Central, SIAP has moved into a tie with Winning Beer Money at 5-2. WBM owns the tiebreaker on a head-to-head win, but this looks to be a two-horse race in the second half of the season. Turd and The Hip are each 1-6 and will need a miracle to challenge for the division.
  • After Post Mortem’s second straight loss, The Jedi Masters and Double D have ascended to the top of the West, PFFL’s most competitive division. At 6-1, DD and TJM share a one-game advantage over Post, and a three-game lead over surging Hedfullalicker and TKD.

Wildcard/Playoff Race

  • Six teams have only 1 or 2 losses and are currently resting comfortably in the driver’s seat as far as postseason chances go.
  • After that, there are four 3-4 teams – two of which would currently make the playoffs.
  • At 1-6, Camel Toe, The Hip and Turd Ferguson are only 2 games out of a playoff spot right now.
  • SaaBB has the easiest remaining schedule, playing opponents who are a combined 14-35.
  • TKD and Hedfullalicker, by virtue of playing in the league’s toughest division, have the toughest remaining strength of schedule. Their opponents are a combined 32-17.

This week’s recap babe is Gemma Atkinson. These pictures are from her 2008 calendar. I’m pretty sure she can float.

  • In a battle of lower echelon teams, Hedfullalicker beat Turd Ferguson by 5 points. Hed has beaten Turd four straight times and now leads the career matchup, 6-5.
  • In another matchup up of lowly teams, Tappa Kegga Day picked up their second straight win (oddly coinciding with LT’s resurgence), beating The Hip by 41. TKD has won four straight over TH and leads the all-time series 8-4.
  • Winning Beer Money improved to 5-1, handing CSPJ a fourth straight loss in the process. WBM leads the career matchup 4-1-1, and has won four straight over CSPJ.
  • Camel Toe lost their fifth straight game, losing to DDT in their first ever meeting.
  • The Jedi Masters improved to 5-1, tied with Double D and Post Mortem for first in the West. Kramerica drops to .500 on the season and trails the all-time matchup, 5-3.
  • SIAP crushed SaaBB by 50 points, with both teams moving to matching 4-2 records. SIAP has now won two in a row over SaaBB to even their career series at 6 wins each.

Week 6 Records & Milestones

  • SIAP’s 132.46 points and TKD’s 124.15 points are the 6th and 7th most points scored in week 6
  • The 214.56 combined points in the SIAP-SaaBB matchup is the 8th highest scoring game in league history
  • SIAP’s 50.36 point win is the 9th largest blowout ever
  • Hedfullalicker’s 5.47 point win is the 10th closest week 6 margin of victory in PFFL history
  • LT’s 48.4 point day and Adrian Peterson’s 44.3 point performance are the top two individual player days in week 6 of the PFFL player stat era
  • Kramerica Industries became the fastest team to record 50 losses in all games (regular and post season) in PFFL history. By accomplishing this feat in 79 games, Kramerica obliterated the record previously held by WNFL at 93 games.
  • SIAP recorded their 15th career high point week. They are only the second team to get that many (Post Mortem has 18.5)
  • Post Mortem’s 5-0 start (ended this week) ties with Camel Toe’s 2006 performance as the third best winning streak to start a season. Camel Toe ended up missing the playoffs. Post Mortem hopes to avoid the same fate.

PFFL Survivor

SIAP’s high point week earns them immunity for week 7. Insult was added to the injury that is the end to Post Mortem’s undefeated status in the form of elimination from PFFL Survivor. If only PM had started Kevin Walter and DeAngelo Williams…

This week’s recap babe is Jaime Pressley. These are some way old pics that apparently just showed up in this magazine now. Anyway, I’m hoping the boobies bring back a winning streak for Post Mortem next week…

PFFL Survivor

Double D’s second high point week of the year also earned them Immunity for week 6. Meanwhile, CSPJ’s miserable performance got them booted right off of the PFFL Survivor island.

This week’s recap babe? She’s Supergirl. Laura Vandervoort (I think it’s a Canadian spelling) is playing Clark Kent’s cousin Supergirl on Smallville this season.

Deadspin: The MJD Smorgasbord (Week 4)

Roll, Daunte, Roll (The MJD Smorgasbord on Deadspin)

This feature shows up on Deadspin every Monday and is fantastic.

Some highlights from this week:

So the Rams are taking the field today with a quarterback with broken ribs and a white starting running back. I don’t think the Elias sporting bureau has official stats on such things, but I’m willing to bet that the all-time record of teams with white running backs and QBs with broken ribs is well below .500.

And Brett Favre is your all-time TD leader, connecting with Greg Jennings (subbing in for his brother Brandon this week) in the 1st quarter. In celebration, Favre picks Jennings up over his shoulders. If Favre ever tries this on one of those tackle-eligible TD passes, he’s going to end his career.

And my CEO’s favorite:

While we’re back on the subject of Santonio … Dan Dierdorf just called him “San Antonio” Holmes. Somewhere at home, Santonio’s mom is watching and thinking to herself, “HA! I finally got someone. Now go do your homework, Langeles and Nork.”
