Save the Date: PFFL 2011 Draft – Friday, August 26, 2011

Posted on July 11, 2011 by Post Mortem
No comments

It seems to be the time of year (or just the height of optimism about the end to NFL labor negotiations) to get draft date messages out, so here’s the official notice for PFFL.

Barring a ton of conflicts, this year’s draft (the FIFTEENTH in PFFL history) will be on Friday, August 26th. We’ll again target a 3:00 pm start time.

I did put a little poll on the PFFL site just in case the 26th is an issue for like half of you or something: http://football9.myfantasyleague.com/2011/options?L=27911&O=224&EVENT_ID=289 — please click that link and check off the availability of your franchise to draft on the three dates mentioned.

(I’m guessing you won’t like the Labor Day weekend alternative dates much though, so I’m going on an assumption that it will be the 26th)

2011 1st Round Draft Selection and This Year’s MFL Site

Posted on June 27, 2011 by Post Mortem
No comments

I’m cautiously optimistic that we’re going to have a full NFL season this year once everyone agrees how to split up eleventy billion dollars fairly. That means that the FIFTEENTH season of PFFL is also gonna happen. So, we need a draft order.

DDT is the first team up to select a draft spot. They have until 11:59 pm (CT) on Wednesday, July 6th, to make their choice. Some procedural details on the 1st round selection timer:

  • The clock starts at 11:59 pm on Monday, July 4th
  • Teams are free to make their selections before the timer is activated though. Any choices made before 11:59 pm on Monday, July 4th, will put the next team in line on the clock with the same Wednesday deadline.
  • After Monday, every pick made will put the next team on the clock. They will have at least 48 hours to make their choice. So, if DDT makes their pick at 1 pm on Tuesday, July 5th, Winning Beer Money will have until 11:59 pm on Thursday, June 7th, to make their choice.
  • If you are going on vacation, or will have limited internet access for any reason, over the next few weeks, let me know and we’ll work something out. (in other words, the commissioner reserves the right to pause the clock or make a selection for a team if an exception arises)

The 2011 myFantasyLeague site is up and running: http://www.myfantasyleague.com/2011/home/27911 (you might want to bookmark that)

Note: The divisions are setup, but the league schedule is not finalized yet — I’m going to wait to make sure we have a full 17 week NFL slate before I set that up.

2011 Divisions and Draft Selection Order

Posted on January 10, 2011 by Post Mortem
No comments

The Double D victory parade has ended, the confetti has been cleaned up, and unlike the actual NFL, the PFFL has no plans to lock out players. In other words, we are officially in the 2011 PFFL season.

To kick things off, random draws were held at the postseason bash to determine 2011 division assignments and the order for 1st round draft spot selection.

Division Assignments — The Central division has complete turnover from 2010, while CSPJ  and Tappa Kegga Day are staying put in an effort to defend their respective division titles.

Draft Spot Selection Order — After two straight years of intense fan pressure due to choosing their draft spot first, Camel Toe can rest easy. They are #14 this year and will not have to make any decisions until draft day. DDT is on the clock and can choose their draft spot anytime. Of course, we won’t be putting a timer on this until after July 4th weekend, so feel free to mull this over for 6 months.

By the way, if you guys were impressed with the girls Steck found for the draft, you should’ve seen who he invited to the postseason party. (That picture up there was the only SFW one we were able to get before things got really crazy)

These items are on the league calendar on the MFL site, but bear special mention:

TRADE DEADLINE

The trade deadline is 7:20 pm (CT) on Thursday night (aka, the start of the first game of the week)

BLIND BID WAIVERS

With the onset of weekly Thursday Night games this week, waivers will be processed on WEDNESDAY nights from now through the end of the season.

With the Thursday games, remember that the status of Thursday night players will be locked at gametime on Thursday. You will, however, be able to add/drop non-Thursday night players until noon on Sunday, as normal.

2010 PFFL Preseason Links

Some links you may want to bookmark and/or take action on as you get ready for the season:

http://www9.myfantasyleague.com/2010/home/33114#0 – this year’s PFFL site on myFantasyLeague. Hopefully this one is not a surprise to you.

http://mflhistory.com/leaguehistory.php?id=12 – the PFFL MFL History site. All the records are here.

If you are in multiple myFantasyLeague leagues and/or you want a more fully-featured live scoring application, you HAVE to check this out. It’s free from MFL and is pretty much all I have open on Sundays. If you already have the GameDay app installed, make sure to go to the Options tab and check for GameDay Program Updates, which will update the app for 2010 — and then, add your leagues.

http://www.waymorefunner.com/pffl/ – the PFFL Waymorefunner site. The primary things you’ll want to check out on this site:

  • PFFL Survivor
  • PFFL Finance Report (note, for those of you with extra money carried over, this report does NOT show that)
  • Franchise Ratings
  • Later in the season: Division Races and Wild Card Races

And, of course, be sure to check out this blog throughout the season for previews, recaps, and pictures of hot chicks, like our draft girls Laura and Jenna Lee.

Thursday Night NFL Begins This Week (Deadline Reminders)

Posted on November 10, 2009 by Post Mortem
No comments

Just a friendly reminder.

christian-serratos-nude-peta-01With the NFL Thursday Night games starting up this week, and continuing through the end of the season, our weekly deadlines change a little bit:

  • The deadline for Blind Bid Waivers is now 10:00 pm on WEDNESDAY night, with first-come, first-serve waivers beginning at 10:30 pm on Wednesdays.
  • First-come, first-serve waivers will continue to be allowed up until Noon on Sunday. Any players involved in games occurring prior to that time will be locked at the start of their games. In other words, when the Bear-49er game kicks off this Thursday night, you will not be able to pick up or drop any players from those two teams until next week. Players from all other teams are fair game until noon Sunday, as usual.
  • This is also the PFFL Trade Deadline — any and all trades must be completed before kickoff on Thursday night (that’s 7:20 pm)

Note: All of these deadlines have been posted on the myFantasyLeague site all season, so hopefully this doesn’t shock anyone.

Finally, Christian Serratos, who is apparently in the Twilight films, would like you not to wear fur.

2009 Offseason Update #1 – Opening Week Schedule [Anna Faris]

Posted on March 26, 2009 by Post Mortem
No comments

45901_anna_122_908loThe NFL has released it’s opening weekend and Thanksgiving primetime matchups. Over the next week or so, the rest of the primetime matchups will be announced with the full schedule due to come out in roughly mid-April, I assume.

Here in the PFFL, we have an opening week schedule to announce too, and ALL of our games finish in primetime.

The chase for the 2009 PFFL Championship will begin with this slate of 7 matchups:

  • CSPJ vs Camel Toe, CSPJ leads 3-1
  • Tappa Kegga Day vs Double D, Double D leads 7-3
  • The Hip vs The Jedi Masters, The Hip leads 5-4
  • Winning Beer Money vs Post Mortem, WBM leads 5-3
  • Turd Ferguson vs SIAP, SIAP leads 10-6
  • Hedfullalicker vs DDT, Series tied at 5-5
  • Kramerica Industries vs SaaBB, SaaBB leads 6-3

Offseason Update Babe

Underrated hottie Anna Faris is in the new movie Observe and Protect, but you probably know her best from the Scary Movie(s).

2009 Division Assignments

Posted on January 11, 2009 by Post Mortem
No comments

The Postseason Party also featured a random draw for divisions, which resulted in this setup for 2009:

East

Camel Toe
Chain Smoking Patch Junkies
The Hip
The Jedi Masters
Tappa Kegga Day

  • TKD returns to try to defend their 2008 East division title, while the rest of the division is made up of 4 of the 6 non-playoff qualifying teams from this year.
  • The Jedi Masters and CSPJ will be in the same division for the second consecutive year
  • The Hip and Camel Toe are also carrying on a division rivalry from last year

Central

Double D
DDT
Hedfullalicker
Post Mortem

  • None of these four teams were in the Central last year
  • Post Mortem, DDT and Hedfullalicker were playoff teams in 2008
  • DDT and Double D were division mates in ’08
  • Post Mortem and Hedfullalicker will be battling in the same division for the third straight season, and will be meeting for the 18th and 19th times in the regular season

West

Kramerica Industries
Sharp as a Bowling Ball
SIAP
Turd Ferguson
Winning Beer Money

  • Turd Ferguson returns to the West as a playoff qualifier
  • SaaBB heads to the West after winning the Central division in 2008
  • SaaBB and WBM were both in the Central last year
  • SIAP and Kramerica join the West after duking it out in the East last season
  • SIAP will be playing both WBM and Turd for the 16th and 17th times in 2009

Other notes:

  • This is the first time in league history that Kramerica, WBM and Turd have all played in the same division.

Division Assignments Babe

I kinda wish I could be in Olivia Munn’s division. She’s quickly becoming a favorite, not just because she’s all like… hot. But, she’s also into technology, has a blog, talks about sex…

2009 Draft Pick Selection Order

Posted on January 11, 2009 by Post Mortem
No comments

cameltoe5Based on a random draw at the 2008 Postseason Bash, the 2009 Draft Pick Selection order is as follows:

  1. Camel Toe
  2. Kramerica Industries
  3. Double D
  4. Hedfullalicker
  5. Turd Ferguson
  6. Post Mortem
  7. Winning Beer Money
  8. SIAP
  9. DDT
  10. Tappa Kegga Day
  11. Sharp as a Bowling Ball
  12. The Jedi Masters
  13. The Hip
  14. Chain Smoking Patch Junkies

This is the second year in a row that Camel Toe has come away with the first option at picking a draft spot. Last year, they decided to go with the #1 pick, and selected Ladainian Tomlinson, only to end the season with the worst record in the league. Wonder what their strategy will be in 2009…
