2011 Playoff Semi-Final Recap/Championship Preview

Posted on January 1, 2012 by Post Mortem
No comments

It’s championship week in PFFL for the fifteenth time. Yep, FIFTEEN. And this year’s champ will be a first-timer who has been competing in all fifteen of those seasons. Hedfullalicker and Post Mortem are the only two franchises among the six charter league members still active in PFFL without a title. After this week, there will be only one left with an empty trophy case.

Playoff Semi-Final Highlights

  • Hedfullalicker beat Kramerica by 20 to reach the championship game for the second straight season. This is the second week in a row where ‘licker defeated a team they had also swept in division play. Kramerica has now lost 7 in a row to Hedfullalicker, dating back to 2005.
  • In the other semi-final, Post Mortem led throughout, then held on while The Hip had half their team playing on Monday night. In the end, Post prevailed, winning by 32. Post Mortem now leads the postseason series with The Hip, 2-1, and overall 10-5.

Playoff Records and Milestones

  • Post Mortem broke the 1500 postseason points barrier this week, and sits as the 4th highest scoring postseason team, despite a 7-10 playoff record
  • Post Mortem is making their second championship game appearance. They are 0-1.
  • Hedfullalicker is making their third championship game appearance. They are 0-2.
  • Kramerica is the 13th team in PFFL history to lose 5 postseason games

Toilet Bowl Update

  • DDT beat SaaBB
  • Turd Ferguson beat Camel Toe
  • It’s DDT vs Turd Ferguson for the Toilet Bowl title

PFFL Super Bowl XV Preview

  • Hedfullalicker vs Post Mortem — two original franchises, three previous championship appearances, zero titles
  • Post Mortem leads the overall series 14-8
  • Hedfullalicker beat Post in week 6, 89.23 – 71.84, their second straight win over Mortem
  • These two have met once before in the playoffs, in 2006. In the first round that year, Hedfull won 85.04 – 72.37
  • It used to be a guarantee that if you lost your first championship game, you would win the next time you made it to the title game. That changed last year when Hedfullalicker became the first team to record an 0-2 record in the championship round.
  • Only three teams (Hed, TKD and SIAP) have lost more than one championship game. Only SIAP has lost three. Either Hedfullalicker will join SIAP with 3 losses or Post Mortem will join this club with two.

First up, a few quick housekeeping notes

  • The MyFantasyLeague site for this year is http://www9.myfantasyleague.com/2011/home/27911 (you should probably bookmark that so you can set your lineups and stuff)
  • Preseason blind bid waiver requests will be processed TONIGHT (Wed, 9/7) at 10:00 PM (CT). Starting at 10:30, first-come-first-serve waivers will run until noon, Sunday. NOTE: Once the Packers-Saints game kicks off Thursday night, you will not be able to add or drop Packers/Saints players.
  • The official league rules can be found here: http://www.waymorefunner.com/pffl/leagueinfo/rules.php
  • Lineups are due 5 minutes before kickoff of each players game. In other words, make your Packer/Saint player decisions by Thursday evening, but feel free to wait to decide on the rest of your lineup until Sunday morning
Now, on to the good stuff…
Yeah, that was a fun draft.

Week 1 Preview

  • Camel Toe and Turd Ferguson meet for the 7th time. If this one is close, Camel probably wins it. Their two wins over Turd were by a combined 11 points, while each of Turd’s four victories have been by at least 14.
  • SaaBB is looking for its eighth consecutive win over Winning Beer Money. WBM is looking to beat SaaBB for the first time since 2006.
  • Post Mortem is 7-3 lifetime against Tappa Kegga Day, including 2-0 on opening weekend. TKD’s last victory over Post? 2003, when we didn’t even have decimal point scoring…
  • SIAP and CSPJ meet for the first time since 2008, and the 7th time overall, in a series tied at 3 wins a piece. SIAP has won the last two meetings, with CSPJ’s last victory in this series coming in 2005.
  • DDT and Kramerica played every season from 2003 to 2009. With their series tied at 5 wins each, they took a break last season, but will continue their rivalry this year in the same division.
  • This is the ninth overall meeting between The Hip and Double D. The Hip won the first 2, DD won the next 2, The Hip took 2 after that, and DD currently has a 2 game win streak. That tells me that The Hip is likely to sweep the season division series this year. Call your bookie.
  • Hedfullalicker and The Jedi Masters are squaring off for the 15th time, but the first since Hed took the Jedis down in 2008. While the overall series is tied 7-7, The Jedis hold a 5-1 advantage in division games.

PFFL Survivor

Your team is alive, but not immune.

PFFL Record Watch

  • Winning Beer Money is one victory away from 100 overall wins (including playoffs)
  • SIAP is one loss away from 100 overall losses (including playoffs)

2010 Week 1-2 Recap

Posted on September 23, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Boy, I have to apologize. All Many Some A couple None of you have been complaining about the lack of blog updates since the start of the PFFL season. So, it’s about time I jump back in to fill the void in your fantasy football lives with PFFL history talk and hot pictures.

Week 1 Highlights

  • After getting swept in two meetings (one regular season, one postseason) last year, CSPJ beat Double D.
  • Turd Ferguson now has a 6-3 all-time lead over DDT. DDT has not defeated Turd since 2006.
  • Hedfullalicker beat The Hip for the fourth straight time to even their career matchup at 9 wins each.
  • Camel Toe beat The Jedi Masters for the 2nd time in three games. Despite their recent woes, the Jedis still own a 4-2 lead in this series.
  • Tappa Kegga Day and Kramerica met for the first time since 2008, with TKD doing the same thing they did twice that year: winning. Kramerica hasn’t beaten TKD in the regular season since their first meeting, 2002, week 3.
  • Post Mortem defeated Winning Beer Money for only the fourth time in 11 tries, and the first time since 2007.
  • SIAP inched past SaaBB by less than a point, avenging their blowout loss in last year’s championship game.

Week 1 Records/Milestones

  • Turd Ferguson’s 129.93 points is the 6th most ever in opening week
  • TKD’s 47.28 point win over Kramerica is the biggest blowout in week 1 since 2007
  • SIAP’s 0.68 point win over SaaBB is the closest victory ever in week 1 (there was a tie, back in 2003)
  • Arian Foster’s 44.8 points is the most by a player in week 1 during the PFFL player stats era
  • The Hip joined Hedfullalicker as the only two teams in PFFL history to have 50 division losses

PFFL Survivor – Week 1

Kramerica’s 44.77 points in week 1 earns them the honor of being the first team booted from the 2010 edition of PFFL Survivor.

Meanwhile, Turd Ferguson grabbed high points for the week and the week 2 immunity that goes with it.

ines.sainz-bikiniWeek 2 Highlights

  • After suffering a season sweep at the hands of CSPJ last year, The Hip took game 1 of their series in 2010.
  • Double D defeated Winning Beer Money for the third straight time, and 7th time in 9 meetings.
  • In week 13 last year, DDT beat Post Mortem by 4.47 points. Post returned the favor this week with a 2.97 point victory, extending their all-time lead in the series to 7-4.
  • Hedfullalicker last lost to Kramerica in 2005, and wasted no time improving their career mark over KI to 6-2.
  • SaaBB continues to dominate Camel Toe, improving to 5-0.
  • The Jedi Masters took home the weekly high points award with a blowout win over Turd Ferguson. A season sweep by TJM in division play later this season would knot this series up at 5 wins each.
  • In the 18th game in this storied rivalry, Tappa Kegga Day notched a 10-point victory over SIAP. The all-time matchup is all even, with each team holding 9 wins.

Week 2 Records/Milestones

  • The Jedi Masters became only the fifth team in PFFL history to win 100 overall games (regular and post- season). It took them 184 games to reach the milestone, tied with Tappa Kegga Day for third fastest.
  • SaaBB won their 50th division game all-time, and is the sixth team to achieve this milestone
  • CSPJ recorded their 25th division loss, and is now tied with Double D as the sixth fastest teams to the mark (taking 52 games to lose 25)
  • They didn’t need the points to win this week, but Hedfullalicker had to be squirming when they saw Jahvid Best rack up 44.2 points, while sitting on their bench. In the PFFL player stat era, this is second only to DDT’s benching of the Seahawk defense’s 46-point performance in week 13 of the 2005 season.

PFFL Survivor – Week 2

Turd Ferguson’s immunity was almost required this week, as they scored the second fewest points among the remaining teams. As it turned out, however, Camel Toe’s 68.74 points earned them the boot.

Meanwhile, The Jedi Masters secured their 13th all-time high scoring week and hold immunity for week 3.

ines-sainz-New-York-JetsLooking Ahead to Week 3

  • SIAP will try once again to become only the second team in PFFL history to win 100 regular season games
  • Winning Beer Money will close in further on 15,000 career regular season points. In fact, a 155 point performance would get them there in spectacular fashion.
  • Turd Ferguson doesn’t want to hit this milestone, but a loss this week to Winning Beer Money would give Turd 50 division losses.
  • The Jedi Masters will try to end a 2-game losing streak against CSPJ
  • The Hip looks to extend their 2-game win streak over Double D
  • The 14th all-time meeting between DDT and Tappa Kegga Day will be the earliest they’ve ever met in a season
  • Hedfullalicker will try to beat SIAP for the first time since 2001
  • Someone is going to take the lead in the series between Camel Toe and Post Mortem, currently stuck at two wins a piece.
  • Kramerica and SaaBB meet for the 13th time in a series that SaaBB leads 7-5
  • Winning Beer Money looks for their first win of the season against Turd Ferguson, a foe they have dominated to the tune of a 12-2 all-time advantage

2008 PFFL Championship Preview [Christmas Babes]

Posted on December 23, 2008 by Post Mortem
No comments

SIAP vs TKD – both teams have made it to the Championship game four times. SIAP has two titles, TKD has one. And, they have one previous meeting in the title game. SIAP has never won the title as a wild card, but HAS won in each of the last two election years, while TKD has lost in its previous two trips as the East Division champion. Who will add their name to the PFFL trophy in 2008?

As we reach the conclusion of another year, let me take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and safe holiday week. I hope you all get to spend it with your families and friends.

Merry Christmas!

ymw4ou-1228156882Championship Matchup

  • (3) Tappa Kegga Day vs (8) SIAP > This week’s championship game is a rematch of the PFFL title game from 10 seasons ago. TKD won the 1998 championship over SIAP, 109-78. It is the only other time these two original franchises have met in the postseason. In the overall series, this will be the 16th meeting in a matchup that SIAP leads, 8-7. As division rivals in the East this season, these two teams split their two games. TKD won in week 4, while SIAP won in the regular season finale. This is the fourth championship game appearance for both teams. SIAP won the title in 2000 (as the West champ and 3-seed) and 2004 (as the West champ and 2-seed), but lost in the aforementioned matchup with TKD in 1998. TKD won their only title in 1998 as the 8-seed, and lost in the championship game in their other two East Division winning seasons (1997 and 2005, as the 1 and 3 seed, respectively).

2005 Super Bowl IX Double D def. Tappa Kegga Day, 66.68-64.75 In their second championship appearance, Double D claims the crown in the lowest scoring Super Bowl in PFFL history. TKD falls to 1-2 in championship games.
2006 Super Bowl X Winning Beer Money def. Hedfullalicker, 101.04 – 99.89 This was both the highest scoring and closest championship game in PFFL history. Both teams were appearing in the first Super Bowl.
2007 Super Bowl XI The Jedi Masters def. Kramerica Industries, 93.11 – 74.77 The most successful season in PFFL history ends appropriately for The Jedi Masters, as they claim their first league title to conclude a 13-1 season.

Toilet Bowl Championship Matchup

  • The Jedi Masters seek their first ever Toilet Bowl title in the first appearance in the little dance, while The Hip is looking for their second Toilet Bowl title, in their third Toilet Bowl championship appearance.

Coming Next Week

Be sure to check back next week after all the fantasy action has concluded for the year. Not only will I recap the 2008 postseason, but it will also be time to unveil the updated PFFL Franchise Ratings! Has your team increased or decreased in value this year? I’ll also run down the final financial totals for each team. Happy Holidays!

2008 Playoff Week 2 Preview [Marisa Miller 2009 Calendar]

Posted on December 17, 2008 by Post Mortem

Quick reminder: There is home field advantage again this week, so both Turd Ferguson and SaaBB will be getting a 2-point boost to start things off. There is no home-field in the championship.

def_48db2bab9b80e_1Playoff Semifinal Matchups

One game this week is a rematch of a game played just three weeks ago, while the other is the first meeting of the year. Week 15 saw 2 of 4 lower seeds advance. Will we see any upsets this week? To decide the matchup for the 2008 PFFL Championship game:

  • (8) SIAP vs (5) Turd Ferguson – This is the first meeting of the year for these two clubs who made the playoffs as wild cards and scored upset victories in round 1. Despite not playing in ’08, these two are familar foes, as this will be their 16th meeting in PFFL history. SIAP leads that series, 9-6, and swept Turd last year when they were division rivals. This is their first ever meeting in the postseason. SIAP is 3-2 in semi-final games, while Turd Ferguson is 1-2 and has not advanced to a championship game since 1999.
  • (3) Tappa Kegga Day vs (2) SaaBB – Back in week 13, SaaBB beat TKD by 20 to lock up the #2 seed in the playoffs and the 2-point head start that could come in handy this week. While this is the 16th all-time meeting of these two clubs, it is only their second faceoff in the postseason. In PFFL’s innagural season of 1997, TKD beat SaaBB, 89-74 in the semi-finals. TKD is an impressive 3-1 in the semifinal playoff round, while SaaBB struggles in this round, going 1-6 in their opportunities to make it to the big game.

Toilet Bowl Matchups

  • (3) Winning Beer Money vs (2) The Hip – The Hip is an impressive 5-1 in Toilet Bowl action, while WBM picked up their first consolation round 1 (in 2 tries) last week.
  • (5) Double D vs (1) The Jedi Masters – Double D is now 1-0 in the toilet bowl, while this is the first ever toilet game for TJM.

Semifinal Preview Babe

Marissa Miller has made a few appearances in the PFFL Blog this year, so it seemed appropriate to provide some pictures from her 2009 calendar as we near the end of the PFFL year. Joel is probably already printing this out…

2008 Playoff Week 1 Preview [Abigail Clancy]

Posted on December 9, 2008 by Post Mortem

First off, some reminders on waiver rules:

  1. Only teams alive in the championship round of the playoffs are allowed to make waiver moves
  2. Players can only be added in the case of a newly injured player. In other words, the injured player must have been active or listed as no worse than probable in the previous week.
  3. The added player must be the same position as the injured player
  4. The injured player does NOT have to be dropped — any player can be dropped to make room for the injury replacement

And a quick reminder about the playoffs – there is home field advantage in play in the first two rounds. So the better seed gets a 2-point head start.

View the Week 15 Game Center

Playoff Quarterfinal Matchups

All of the first round matchups in this year’s postseason are rematches of contests held earlier this year. In two of the four games, the teams involved are from the same division and split their season series. On top of all that, 3 of the four matchups this week are between teams who have met in the playoffs before. On to the history…

  • (8) SIAP vs (1) Post Mortem: Post Mortem beat SIAP in week 12, 81.41 – 75.36, in a low-scoring affair. That win evened the overall series tally at 7-7, but SIAP has a 1-0 advantage in postseason play, with a 116-80 win over Post in the 2000 semi-finals. SIAP has not won a playoff game since their 2004 championship run (granted, they only have one playoff game since then), but are 5-2 in first round playoff games. Post Mortem is 4-4 in the first round of the playoffs, and has advanced to round 2 in 2 of the last 3 seasons. Side note: PM has three West division titles and has now been seeded in all three of the available division winner spots, #2 in 1997, #3 in 2001 and now #1.
  • (7) Kramerica Industries vs (2) Sharp as a Bowling Ball: Kramerica beat SaaBB waaaaaaaaay back in week 1, 66.31 – 49.79. That was KI’s third straight win over SaaBB, including a 90.12 – 52.21 win in the playoff semi-finals last year. Before the current Kramerica streak, SaaBB had dominated this series, winning the first five meetings. Kramerica is 1-1 in the first round of the playoffs, and is coming off of a 2007 season that saw them make a run all the way to the title game. In 8 playoff appearances, SaaBB has lost in the first round only one time, back in 1998. The second round is their nemesis, as they are 1-6 in the semis.
  • (6) Duany Duany Tanning vs (3) Tappa Kegga Day: These two East division rivals split their season series. DDT won in week 6, while TKD returned the favor in week 12. DDT holds an overall 7-5 series advantage, which includes a 12-point win in the first round of the 2006 playoffs. DDT is 3-for-5 in the first round, but is actually 2-0 as a wild card. Tappa Kegga Day, meanwhile, has not won a playoff game since advancing to the 2005 title game. Losses in the first round in 2006 and 2007 ended TKD’s perfect 4-0 first round record prior to that time.
  • (5) Turd Ferguson vs (4) Hedfullalicker: Both teams hail from the West division. Hedfullalicker won the first meeting of their division series, in week 1, with Turd getting the victory in week 10 to earn the season split. Hed leads the overall series 7-6. This is their first ever postseason meeting. Turd Ferguson is an even .500 in the first round, going 3-3, but without a playoff win since 2005. Hedfullalicker has been one of the hardest luck postseason teams in PFFL history. From 1997-2004, Hed reached the playoffs six times, but never made it out of the first round. That streak finally came to an end in 2006 when Hedfull not only won in round 1, but advanced all the way to the championship game.

Toilet Bowl Matchups

The Jedi Masters and The Hip get byes into the semi-final round of the Toilet Bowl, but the bottom 4 teams in the league square off this week. Among the six teams in the Toilet Bowl competition, only one has ever won a Toilet game — The Hip, who bring an impressive 5-1 Toilet record to the table.

  • (6) Camel Toe vs (3) Winning Beer Money: Camel Toe is 0-2 in the Toilet round, but both losses came against The Hip (who would be their 2nd round opponent). Winning Beer Money has only one Toilet Bowl game under their belt, a loss to SIAP in 2005.
  • (5) Double D vs (4) CSPJ: Double D is making their first ever appearance in the Toilet Bowl, while CSPJ is here for the third straight season, but has never made it to the 2nd toilet round.

2008 Week 14 Preview [Carol Alt]

Posted on December 4, 2008 by Post Mortem

Quick FYI: There were a few stat changes this week, but they had no impact on PFFL game scores, so no stat change update today.

Here we are at the end of another regular season. Following this week’s action, I’ll try to spend some time looking at the trends in the league this year. I’m not sure, but it seems like there’s been a little more parity scoring-wise, at least among the playoff contending teams. I don’t think any one team was completely dominant from the top to bottom of their roster. It’s weird, but it almost seems to mirror the NFL where there are a few not-so-good-at-all teams and then a bunch of decent-to-great teams depending on which week you look at them.

Week 14 Matchups

  • Duany Duany Tanning is looking for a split in their season series with Kramerica, after suffering an 11-point loss back in week 8. Kramerica has won three straight in this matchup, but DDT has won both week 14 meetings (in 2005 and 2006). The winner this week takes a one win lead in the 9-game all-time series.
  • TKD looks for the season sweep of SIAP this week. A sweep is a rare occurence when these two are in the same division. This is the sixth time they have shared a division home, and 5 of those times, the season series has been split. The only exception was SIAP’s sweep in 2000. This is the 15th career meeting between these two, with each currently holding 7 wins.
  • Post Mortem and Camel Toe meet for the second time this year and third since CT joined the league. In week 14 of last season, Camel defeated Post by 15, while Mortem crushed Toe by 29 7 weeks ago.
  • Hedfullalicker is looking for a fourth straight win to end the season when they take on The Hip. The Hip leads the career series, 9-6, but Hedfullalicker won their week 3 matchup by 30. This is the fifth time these two have been in the same division, and a Hip win would make them 5-for-5 in season splits in those seasons.
  • Double D and Turd Ferguson meet in the final week of the regular season for the third time. Turd beat DD in week 14 in 2005, while DD won last year. Turd leads the all-time matchup, 6-2.
  • The Jedi Masters and their faint playoff hopes meet up with the eliminated Chain Smokers this week. The Jedis beat CSPJ back in week 8 by 51 and lead the historical series, 3-2. Their in-season schedule matches the only other season in which they were in the same division — 2004, when the Jedis won the week 8 and 14 meetings.
  • Sharp as a Bowling Ball looks to complete the sweep of Winning Beer Money in their season series this week, and end the year on a 4-game win streak. SaaBB has beaten WBM two straight times, but the overall series is knotted up at 5-5-1. WBM’s last win over SaaBB came in their only other week 14 meeting, in 2006.

Playoff Races

I’m not going to repeat my insane ramblings from the week 13 recap, so if you’re interested in getting sort of an idea about this week’s playoff scenarios, check out this article.

Record Watch

  • Post Mortem and Tappa Kegga Day are both looking to go 7-1 in division play. This would put them into a tie for 4th on the list of best division winning percentages. TKD has finished 7-1 in division play twice, in 1997 and 2005. Post Mortem’s best only division record with more than 6 wins was in 1997 when they went 8-0.
  • SIAP and Post Mortem have already locked up spots in a tie for 7th best non-division win percentage with their 5-1 performances outside their respective divisions.
  • If Post Mortem defeats Camel Toe, it will mark only the 4th time that a team has won 12 or more games and the 3rd time a team has lost 12 or more.
  • The Jedi Masters need 105 points to crack the top 10 season point totals while Camel Toe needs to score less than 107 to get a spot on the 10 worst season point totals list.
  • The winner of the SIAP-TKD matchup will get their 90th regular season win and sit in 2nd place on the career regular season wins list. The winner also becomes only the 2nd team in PFFL history to hit 50 division wins. If SIAP wins, it will be their 100th win overall.

Preview Babe

Those of us who went through puberty in the 80′s remember Carol Alt from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. Well, she just turned 48 and decided that now would be a good time to pose for Playboy. So, yeah, here she is. Naked. At 48 years old. Sure, there is probably a fair amount of image cleanup going on here, but she still looks pretty dang good.

2008 Week 13 Preview [Jessica Biel]

Week 13 Matchups

  • DDT and SIAP meet for the tenth time in PFFL history and second time this year in a key East division battle. DDT beat SIAP, 105.55 – 98.31, back in week 1, has beaten SIAP in two straight, and leads the overall series, 6-3.
  • In another East division matchup, Kramerica takes on Double D. Kramerica beat DD by 25 back in week 7, but has been dominated by Double D in the career matchup, 6-2. Double D won their first three meetings, then dropped a game to KI. DD followed that with three more in a row before Kramerica beat them this season. Is this the start of another 3-game win streak for Double D, or does Kramerica turn the tide?
  • Tappa Kegga Day and Sharp as a Bowling Ball square off in an inter-divisional clash of division leaders. This one could have some seeding implications. TKD won the first two career meetings, then endured an 8-game losing streak to SaaBB from 1998-2004. Since then, however, TKD has won three in a row in this streaky series, but still trails overall, 8-5.
  • Post Mortem looks to keep their division record unblemished this week in a rematch with Hedfullalicker. Post beat Hed back in week 6, 109.89 – 78.67, and leads the all-time matchup, 12-5. Yes, this is the 18th meeting of these two clubs. The last time PM beat ‘licker twice in one season? 2002 — when they also met in weeks 6 and 13.
  • The Hip and Turd Ferguson will play a critical playoff pursuit game this week in a rematch of a week 8 win by Turd. Turd leads this career matchup, 8-4, and has won four of the last five.
  • Camel Toe and The Jedi Masters are playing for the third time in Camel’s three seasons. The Jedis have owned this matchup to-date, scoring 112 and 144 points in those two games while holding Toe to less than 80. The Jedis probably have some faint playoff hopes on the line here.
  • CSPJ and WBM play for the second time this year and eighth in PFFL history. CSPJ beat WBM 4 weeks ago by 9 points, ending a 4-game WBM win streak in the series. WBM leads all-time, 4-2-1 (Yes, Donovan, there are ties in PFFL too).

Record Watch

  • DDT hopes to avoid their 50th regular season loss
  • DDT is only 33.91 points away from 10,000 regular season points. Barring a performance like last week, they should reach that mark.
  • SIAP has a chance to become the second team in PFFL history to win 50 division games.
  • Post Mortem seeks to remain undefeated in division play this season

View the Week 11 Game Center

Week 11 Matchups

  • Duany Duany Tanning and Hedfullalicker square off in a battle of playoff contenders. DDT leads this series 5-4 and has won the last two meetings. These two have played at least once per season every year since 2002.
  • In a matchup of 6-4 teams battling for the division lead in the East, SIAP plays Kramerica. Kramerica won the first meeting of the season, back in week 6, 116.26 – 104.04, but SIAP maintains the all-time series advantage, 6-1.
  • Tappa Kegga Day and Double D meet for the tenth time in PFFL history and the second time this season. TKD won back in week 1, 68.78 – 64.18. Double D leads the career series, however, 7-2.  These two also met in week 11 last season, in a game that Double D won by 19.
  • Post Mortem can cinch the West division crown with a win over Turd Ferguson this week. Mortem beat Turd 78.02 – 71 in week 5. PM leads the overall series 8-6 and won two previous week 11 meetings with Turd, in 2001 and 2002.
  • Sharp as a Bowling Ball also has a chance to sew up their division this week when they take on The Jedi Masters. This is the 16th meeting between these clubs, with SaaBB holding a 9-6 series lead. SaaBB won their first meeting of the season, in week 7, 97.35 – 88.05. These two have one previous week 11 meeting, in 2006, a game won by SaaBB 79.47 – 74.95.
  • The Hip and CSPJ square off for the sixth time in league history. Both teams need this win to keep their playoff hopes alive. CSPJ won the last meeting, in week 7 last year, and leads the overall series, 3-2.
  • Camel Toe and Winning Beer Money meet for the third time in a series that is tied at one win each. They split a season series as division rivals in 2006.

Record Watch

  • Camel Toe hopes to end a 6-game losing streak. If they don’t, though, they will move up the charts a little on the single season losing streak record lists.
  • Both Post Mortem and SIAP have a chance to become the first team in PFFL history to win 50 division games.

View the Week 10 Game Center

Week 10 Matchups

  • Back in Week 2, DDT beat Double D by 40 points. That was DDT’s third consecutive victory over DD in this career series. Double D’s only win over DDT in four tries came in a week 10 matchup, in 2003, 121-89.
  • SIAP seeks a fourth straight win on the season when they face a reeling Camel Toe (losers of five in a row) this week. This all-time matchup is tied at one win apiece. Camel won in 2006, while SIAP won in ’07.
  • Post Mortem and Kramerica Industries are meeting for only the fifth time in a series that is tied at one win each. Kramerica won the last meeting, in 2006.
  • In a key matchup in terms of potential playoff tiebreakers, 5-4 TKD takes on 4-5 The Jedi Masters. TJM leads this series, 8-6, and has won the last five meetings. This is actually the third straight season where these two teams are meeting in week 10. The Jedis have won both of those games.
  • Hedfullalicker and Turd Ferguson battle for 2nd place in the West. Back in week 1, Hedfullalicker beat Turd by 30. That was Hed’s fifth straight win in this all-time matchup, led by Hed, 7-5.
  • The Hip and Winning Beer Money meet for the 12th time in league history this week in a must-win matchup as far as their playoff hopes are concerned. As division rivals last year, these two split their season series, but The Hip leads all-time, 7-4.
  • Central division leading SaaBB takes on last place CSPJ this week in a rematch of SaaBB’s 40-point week 2 win. SaaBB leads this career matchup, 5-4-1.

Record Watch

  • Post Mortem will look to extend its record-setting start to the season, currently at 9 games.
  • Camel Toe hopes to avoid a 25th regular season loss this week

Preview Babe

Sapphira O’Shannon is your preview babe this week. I know almost nothing about her, but she was featured as one of the WAGs of the day on “The Spoiler” website, and she seems like, pretty and stuff.
