View the Week 8 Game Center

In a matchup everyone is sure to be talking about, the game of the week looks to be the one between the two teams with the best record and longest winning streaks in the league, not to mention owning the two best starts to a season in PFFL history (this year and in 2004). In other action, two non-division games could play big roles later when the wild cards are handed out as these games feature three 4-3 teams and a 3-4 club. There’s also a battle for the division lead in the East and a game between a 2-5 team and the 1-6 team it hopes to remain ahead of in the playoff hunt.

Week 8 Matchups

  • DDT leads the career matchup over Kramerica, 4-3, but was swept in two games last season. The winner of this one will remain in at least a share of the lead in the East.
  • Amazingly, SIAP and Hedfullalicker have only played seven times. Last year’s week 10 meeting was their first matchup since 2001. SIAP won that game and leads the all-time series, 4-3.
  • TKD and WBM are squaring off for the 16th time ever in a rivalry that includes games in every season since WBM joined the league (1998). The series was evenly matched at 6 wins each through 12 games, but TKD has won the last three to take a 9-6 series lead. This is their first ever week 8 meeting.
  • Double D and Camel Toe are facing off for the second time. DD won last year, in week 7, 102.09 – 83.53. DD is hoping to end a 2 game losing streak while ‘Toe is hoping to snap a 3 game skid.
  • 7-0 Post Mortem and 6-1 SaaBB meet in a battle of division leaders. Both teams own long win streaks (SaaBB is 6-0 since week 1) and lead their respective divisions by 3 games. PM leads the career series 8-4-1 and has won the last three. These two last met in 2006, in week 8 actually, when Mortem completed a season sweep of the Bowling Balls. PM is 2-0 against SaaBB in week 8. If you’re wondering about that tie, it happened in week 9 of the 2002 season. The winner of this one has the inside track on the number one seed in the playoffs.
  • The Hip puts their 3-game winning streak on the line this week against a tough Turd Ferguson team. Both teams are 4-3 and fighting for wild card position. Turd leads this matchup 7-4, but The Hip won the last meeting by 38, in week 12 last season.
  • The Jedi Masters and CSPJ are meeting for only the fifth time ever and the first time since 2005. They were in the same division once before, in 2004, when they also played in week 8. The Jedis won that game and the follow-up match later that season. Meanwhile, CSPJ has won both of the non-division meetings.

Record Watch

  • Post Mortem is seeking to tie the PFFL record for best start to a season, a record held by this week’s opponent.
  • SaaBB, meanwhile, is looking to move into a tie for 8th on the list of longest regular season win streaks.
  • Kramerica only needs one more high point week to tie for 10th on the list of most single season high point weeks.

Say hello to Olivia Munn. Some of these pics are from a new photo spread in some magazine called Complex, and Olivia looks to be in the Halloween spirit. I know very little of who this woman is, but apparently she’s on the G4 network, where she does things like eat a hot dog off a string (see video). If you are interested in more of her bio, here’s her Wikipedia page.

2008 Week 7 Preview [Deanna Russo]

View the Week 7 Game Center

This week will officially complete the first half of the PFFL regular season (yes, already!). On the schedule in week 7, there are 3 division matchups and they are all of different types. One will determine whether the Central is a one- or two- team race. Another features two teams currently in the middle of the pack in the East. And the final one matches the undefeated first place team in the West with a dangerous cellar dweller. On top of the division excitement, four of the seven games this week match up teams who have played at least 12 times in the course of PFFL history, and who have very close all-time records.

Week 7 Matchups

  • DDT and The Hip meet for the 13th time in a series that has run continuously since 2001. The regular season series is led by DDT, 6-5, but the all-time matchup is squared up at 6 wins a piece based on The Hip’s championship win over DDT in ’02. This is the first time these teams are meeting in a week 7 game.
  • SIAP will battle CSPJ for the sixth time, but first after a season off in ’07. CSPJ won the first 3 of the 4 regular season meetings, with SIAP getting its first regular season win in 2006. SIAP’s other win in the series came in the opening round of the 2003 playoffs.
  • Double D holds a 6-1 series lead over Kramerica, including two wins in week 7 affairs. These clubs have battled every year since 2003 and Kramerica’s only win was in the finale of the 2004 regular season. That win ended a 3-game DD win streak in the matchup, which is also what DD has right now. This game looks to figure heavily in the playoff race, if not the East division chase.
  • Tappa Kegga Day and Turd Ferguson have played 15 times, including meeting in every season except 2003. TKD leads the matchup 8-7 (that includes a split in their 2 postseason meetings), and has won four in a row. Turd’s last victory over TKD came in week 3 of the 2004 season. Turd can take solace in the fact that the only time these two played in week 7 (2001), Turd won 133-102.
  • Post Mortem takes an undefeated record into a battle with 1-5 Camel Toe. These clubs have only met once before, in week 14 of the 2007 season. Camel won that game, 84.24 – 68.63.
  • Meeting for the 13th time, Hedfullalicker and WBM have each won 6 games in this series (one of WBM’s wins was in the playoffs). With the exception of a two-game run by Hed in 2000, this is a back-and-forth series with alternating winners. WBM won the last meeting, in the 2006 championship game. This is the first time WBM and Hedfull are playing in week 7.
  • The Jedi Masters are looking to make a move in the Central against SaaBB, who hasn’t lost since week 1. This will be the 15th overall meeting of these teams in a series that is tied at SaaBB leads 8-6, but has dominated 8-4 in the regular season. The Jedis beat SaaBB by 23 in their last meeting, week 1 of last season. Only once have these teams played in week 7. In 1999, The Jedi Masters beat SaaBB, 79-63.

Milestone Watch

  • Post Mortem is hoping to become only the 2nd team to complete the first half of a PFFL season undefeated. A win this week would also give PM their first ever 7-game regular season win streak.
  • Winning Beer Money is hoping to stop their losing streak at 5 games. A loss this week would give them the longest losing streak in their franchise history.
  • SaaBB looks for their 80th regular season victory.
  • DDT looks for their 60th regular season win.
  • TKD wants to avoid a 75th regular season loss.
  • Post Mortem will try to tie SIAP’s record of 48 division wins.

PFFL Survivor Immunity

Kramerica has immunity in Survivor this week as the final 7 will be determined.

This is Deanna Russo, whose intense blue eyes and frequent cleavage baring attire can be seen on Knight Rider, a series which has returned with a lead actor less lame than David Hasselhoff, but with a lamely-voiced (by Val Kilmer) KITT and a little too much influence from the Transformers movie.

View the 2008 Week 6 Game Center

Here’s a quick Sunday at noon look at the key matchups in PFFL this week:

  • DDT and TKD are both undefeated in division play. That will change this week. DDT leads this series 6-3, but TKD won the last matchup, in week 7 last season.
  • SIAP and Kramerica are both winless in division play. That will also change this week. SIAP is favored here based on a 6-0 all-time record against KI, including a 103.34 – 100.45 win in week 9 of the 2007 season.
  • Double D and The Hip are both looking to get back to .500 this week. The Hip won the first two matchups in this series (in 2003 and 2006, week 1), but DD has won the last two (2006, week 11 and 2007).
  • Undefeated Post Mortem plays a one-loss team for the second straight week. Hedfullalicker beat PM in week 11 last year, but trails the all-time matchup 11-5. PM is 2-1 against Hed in week 6 meetings.
  • In a battle of opposites, 1-4 Camel Toe takes on 4-1 SaaBB. SaaBB beat CT twice last year in their only career meetings.
  • Turd Ferguson seeks to rebound from their second loss of the season against 0-5 CSPJ. Turd leads the career matchup 2-1, but they have alternated victories, so this could be CSPJ’s turn.
  • The Jedi Masters are hoping to get back to .500 and get their first division victory over a WBM team in the midst of a 4-game losing streak. The Jedis have dominated this series 8-3, but lost to WBM back in Week 1.

2008 Week 5 Preview [Gemma Atkinson]

3 division matchups, an inter-division battle of 3-1 teams, a few long all-time series and a battle for first place in the West are all on tap in week 5. All that and more as we move past the 1/3 mark of the season.

Week 5 Matchups

  • DDT (3-1) battles SaaBB (3-1) for the 11th time. DDT leads the career series 7-3, and won the last meeting, in week 13 last season, earning a season split of their 2007 division doubleheader.
  • The 2-2 Jedi Masters take on 1-3 SIAP for the 13th time. The Jedis have owned this series of late, winning the last 3 meetings overall (and 4 straight in the regular season) to take an 8-4 series lead. In fact, SIAP’s last win over the Jedis was in the 2004 championship game.
  • Kramerica (2-2) and Tappa Kegga Day (3-1) meet in a division matchup. The all-time series is tied at 2 wins each, with Kramerica winning the last meeting, in round 1 of the playoffs last season.
  • Double D and Winning Beer Money square off in a matchup of 1-3 teams looking to get back in the hunt. DD has the all-time advantage at 4 wins – 2, but WBM beat DD last year in week 10.
  • In a key West division game, undefeated Post Mortem battles 3-1 Turd Ferguson for the 14th time in PFFL history. PM leads that career series, 7-6, but has lost the last two meetings with Turd. Interestingly, PM owns the postseason lead in the series 2-0, meaning that Turd actually has the regular season advantage, 6-5.
  • Hedfullalicker (3-1) is a big favorite in their non-division meeting with CSPJ (0-4). After winning the first three all-time meetings, CSPJ has lost four straight to Hedfullalicker.
  • In another division matchup, two 1-3 teams meet for the fourth time overall, and second this season. The Hip beat Camel Toe back in week 1, 72.93 – 49.53. That is The Hip’s only win thus far this season. Camel Toe got their first win last week with a dominant performance.

Milestone Watch

  • SIAP is only one loss away from 75 career regular season defeats.
  • Hedfullalicker is 103 away from 14,000 career regular season points.
  • The Jedi Masters need only 54 to reach 13,000 career regular season points.
  • CSPJ can extend their losing streak to 8 games.
  • Post Mortem looks to extend their streak of wins to start the season to 5.

Week 4 will feature 5 inter-divisional matchups. This is an interesting week – Camel Toe and Hedfullalicker will be playing for the 4th time in league history, and that is the smallest number previous meetings for any game in week 4. There are also matchups between the two teams involved in the most lopsided game in PFFL history, and the two teams involved in one of the most (if not the most) lopsided all-time series in the league.

  • DDT vs Post Mortem – These two are meeting for the 8th time. Post Mortem leads the series, 4-3, and has won the last two, including a 58-ish – 45-ish win in week 9 last year. These two seem to play low-scoring affairs, as only 3 times in the previous seven meetings has one of the two teams scored 100+ points.
  • SIAP vs Tappa Kegga Day – Meeting for the 14th time, but only the 2nd since 2002, this is the first of two division matchups for TKD and SIAP this season. As division mates in ’97, ’98, ’99, ’00, and ’02, these two teams typically split their season series (SIAP swept TKD in 2000, otherwise, they were 1-1 against each other every year). TKD beat SIAP in the championship game 10 years ago. Last year, TKD beat SIAP, 87.69 – 55.88, in week 8, and carries a 2-game win streak into this season. SIAP still leads the all-time matchup, 7-6.
  • Kramerica Industries vs Chain Smoking Patch Junkies – With an all-time matchup knotted up at 3 wins apiece, Kramerica and CSPJ will only play once in the regular season this year for the first time in three seasons. Only once has one of these two teams scored 100+ in a game against the other — CSPJ in week 10 of the 2006 season.
  • Double D vs Sharp as a Bowling Ball – Double D leads this matchup, 3-2, but the regular season series is tied at 2 wins each. Double D won the last two meetings, but these two haven’t played in almost 2 full seasons. Their last matchup was in week 5 of the 2006 season.
  • Hedfullalicker vs Camel Toe – In the other division matchup of the week, Hedfullalicker and Camel Toe square off for the 4th time in PFFL history. As division rivals in CT’s first season, Camel Toe beat Hed in week 5 of the 2006 season. Then, Hed beat CT in week 13 of that season, and again in week 7 last year, to claim a 2-1 series lead.
  • The Hip vs The Jedi Masters – Did you know that The Hip and The Jedi Masters have never been in the same division? Neither did I. Until now. 2008 isn’t their year to co-habitate a division either, so they’ll have to settle for this inter-division clash as their 9th all-time meeting. The Jedis have won the last two games (in ’06 and ’07) to close in on The Hip’s 5-3 series lead. Last year’s victory was a bit of a laugher as the Jedi Masters won 159-84 – 36.5 in the biggest victory of any game in PFFL history, like… ever.
  • Turd Ferguson vs Winning Beer Money – This isn’t officially rivalry week, but these two clubs have always shared a bit of a rivalry, at least in words. On the field itself? Well, this one is crazy-lopsided in favor of WBM, by the count of 10-1. Turd’s last win over Winning? Week 5 of the 1999 season, and that win was 75-73. Wanna check out the all-time scoring? Well, WBM leads Turd, 1071.79 – 848.03 in points scored. We’ll see if Turd can put a dent in that this week.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a way-way-way-too-early preview without some Keeley. The next two photos are NSFW, so, wait until you’re at home, then feel free to click below.

2008 Week 3 – Preseason Preview

View the 2008 Week 3 Game Center

Week 3 will be a history-making week for PFFL. It will be the first ever official Rivalry Week. Yep, if college can do it, so can we. Most of these rivalries were chosen by your submissions, some were arbitrarily assigned (especially in cases where some of you didn’t submit any rival preferences). Hopefully this will be a fun week:

  • DDT vs CSPJ – This one falls into the arbitrary category, but it has been an interesting matchup over the last 5 years. CSPJ beat DDT in 2003 and 2004, but has lost three straight, including a season division series sweep last year.
  • SIAP vs Double D – These two teams have faced each other every season since DD joined the league. In fact, SIAP was the team that Double D defeated in their first-ever PFFL game. Following that first defeat, SIAP beat DD 3 straight times. The luck ran out there though, as Double D swept SIAP in their 2005 division matchups, and then won in their meetings in ’06 and ’07. 2008 will be the fourth time that they’ve resided in the same division.
  • Kramerica vs Turd Ferguson – Rivals since Kramerica’s entry into the league in 2002, a week 4 win last year gave KI a 4-3 series lead over Turd. This series has been remarkably close over the years, with only 10 points separating the two teams’ point totals in this series.
  • Tappa Kegga Day vs Camel Toe – Calling this one a rivalry is a bit of a stretch, but CT will be looking for revenge from a near-70 point beatdown in their only previous meeting with TKD, in week 6 of the 2006 season.
  • Post Mortem vs The Jedi Masters – The first rivalry to get a name in PFFL, the Britney Bowl is currently tied at 9 wins each. The last meeting between the teams was in the playoff semi-finals last year when PM lost by only 12 to the eventual Super Bowl champs. In 12 of their 18 meetings, the victor has scored 100+ points. In fact, in 7, the loser has scored 100+.
  • Hedfullalicker vs The Hip – Thanks to wins in the first three meetings (in ’97 and ’98), The Hip leads this series 9-5. Since The Hip’s win in week 15 of 2002, however, the winner of these matchups has altternated by game. If form holds, Hedfullalicker is due to win this game.
  • SaaBB vs Winning Beer Money – For the first time since 2000, these two teams are in the same division. WBM currently leads the series 5-4-1. The last two meetings have featured scores from both the winner and loser in the 100′s.

Per the way-way-way-too-early preview tradition, more Keeley Hazell pics for this preview. More from this series can be found here. Anyone else thirsty for a Coke?

936_keeley_fhm04.jpgAfter week 1′s five division games, week 2 will feature 4 more as teams look to get a jump start on their respective division races before the dreaded bye weeks begin. One matchup will be the 15th all-time meeting between the clubs involved, another the 14th, and yet another the 12th. As the icing on the cake of these double-digit meetings, we get a 2007 Super Bowl rematch in that series’ 10th meeting.

  • DDT and Double D will each be playing their 2nd division games in only their fourth meeting ever. This is the first time they have resided in the same division. After Double D won the first meeting in 2003, DDT has taken the last two.
  • SIAP and Winning Beer Money meet in a non-division matchup that is also the 15th meeting ever between their teams. WBM leads the all-time series, 9-5. As division rivals in 2007, these two split their season series. In week 2 last year, WBM beat SIAP, 117-87.57.
  • In a rematch of PFFL Super Bowl XII, The Jedi Masters and Kramerica will square off for the 10th time in league history. TJM owns the series advantage, 6-3, but Kramerica won their only previous week 2 meeting, in 2005.
  • After splitting a division series last year, Hedfullalicker and Tappa Kegga Day will meet for the 14th time. Interestingly, they did not meet in the inaugural PFFL campaign in ’97, but they’ve met at least once each season since then. TKD owns the series, 10-3.
  • Post Mortem and The Hip share a division for the first time since 2002 after not playing each other at all in 2007. This is the 12th meeting (including 2 playoff matchups) in a series that Post leads 7-4. These two met in week 2 of the first ever PFFL season, with PM winning, 101-73.
  • CSPJ and Sharp as a Bowling Ball are division mates for the second consecutive year, and fifth time in six years. In fact, the only non-division meeting they’ve ever played? It was a playoff game during 2004, when they were in the same division anyway. The series is tied, 4-4-1.
  • Camel Toe and Turd Ferguson share a division for the first time after splitting non-division week 8 meetings each of the last two seasons.

Official Way-way-waaaaaaaaaay Early Preview Babe Keeley Hazell is back this week with a couple pictures from her early years of like, 2005. I believe she was either 18 or 19 at the time these pics were snapped. She wears less clothes when you click for more.

58440_keeley_hazell_15_123_1111lo.jpg5 Division matchups, one 2007 semi-final rematch, and the first of two meetings between the last two PFFL champs highlight the start of the 2008 season.

  • DDT and SIAP played in the final regular season week of 2007. They play again to start 2008. This will be their ninth meeting. They were also in the same division in 2006, with SIAP sweeping the season series.
  • Kramerica and SaaBB played in the 2007 semi-final round, with Kramerica prevailing on the way to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance. SaaBB won the first five meetings between the teams, but Kramerica has taken the last two.
  • TKD and Double D are in the same division for the third straight year. DD has won the last three, and absolutely owns TKD in the overall matchup, 7-1.
  • Post Mortem meets CSPJ for the sixth time. PM is 3-0 in weeks 1-9, while CSPJ is 2-0 in week 10+. This is week 1.
  • Hedfullalicker and Turd Ferguson square off for the 12th time, and will be in the same division for only the second time (the last was 2003). Hed has used a four-game win streak over Turd to take the series lead, 6-5. Turd’s last wins? Those 2 division games in ’03.
  • The ’06 and ’07 PFFL champions will kick off the season with their first division meeting of the 2008 season. The Jedi Masters and Winning Beer Money were in the same division twice previously, in 2003 (they split) and 2005 (a Jedi sweep). For WBM, this is a familiar opponent — their last two games were against TJM (a loss in the regular season finale and a loss in round 1 of the playoffs).
  • The Hip and Camel Toe are division rivals for the first time, but have played in each of the last two years, splitting those two matchups.

Pics: I’ve decided that Keeley Hazell deserves a special role in PFFL. I didn’t want to make her our mascot though, since losing that job apparently makes you crazy. So, she is now our official way-way-waaaaaaaaaay early preview babe. Each preview will contain one pic at the start of the article that won’t get you fired and one more after the jump with the good stuff. Enjoy.

99846_kelly_24_123_377lo.jpgThere are times when this fantasy football thing is ridiculously frustrating. Sunday was one of those times… Nothing like over-thinking the matchups and starting the Arizona defense (playing the hapless Falcons — money, right?) instead of the Bears (who were facing that juggernaut Packer offense). So, not only am I completely ticked off watching my Packers get dominated by the weather like rookies from Ecuador or something, but my fantasy team is blowing a chance to beat the best team in PFFL and advance to the Super Bowl… @*$(#!!!!

Ok, that’s off my chest now… I’m still hoping to recover in time for the 2008 fantasy season.

30992_18_122_339lo.jpgIn week 16 Playoff Action:

  • The Jedi Masters advanced to the Super Bowl with a win over Post Mortem, 81.92 – 69.54. Both teams made a number of “hindsight is 20-20″ poor lineup decisions, leading to the lowest score for the winning team in this rivalry since the playoffs in 2001 (the loser in the three of the last four meetings scored over 100). The all-time series is now tied at 9 wins each, although TJM holds a 2-1 playoff advantage.
  • In the other semi-final, Kramerica beat SaaBB for only the second time ever (and second in the last 5 weeks) to advance to the title game. This one wasn’t even close, as KI dominated 90.12 – 52.21. SaaBB can take solace in still holding the all-time matchup advantage, 5-2.

87660_04682_kellyhutaolasvegas004.jpgRecords & Milestones

  • SaaBB and Post Mortem now share the distinction of most career playoff losses — at 8 each. The upside of that record is that both teams have advanced to the postseason in 8 of 11 seasons (more than any other team). The downside? 8 playoff appearances, 0 championships (and only 1 championship appearance each).
  • SaaBB’s 52.21 points are the 7th fewest ever scored in a PFFL playoff game.
  • The Jedi Masters became the 6th team in PFFL history to score 1000 points in the postseason. The 13 games it took them to reach the mark is the longest of the 6 milestone holders. The Hip and SIAP lead the way, accomplishing the feat in only 10 postseason games.

In the Toilet Bowl:

  • The Hip beat DDT, 82.14 – 73.08
  • Hedfullalicker beat Turd Ferguson, 66.67 – 60.75

99185_kelly_18_123_424lo.jpg(3) Kramerica Industries (9-7) vs. (1) The Jedi Masters (14-1)

  • This is the second Super Bowl appearance for The Jedi Masters. They lost in the title game in 2004.
  • This is the first ever Super Bowl appearance for Kramerica Industries.
  • The Jedi Masters defeated Kramerica, 101.31 – 80.8, back in week 6.
  • Kramerica has won 3 of the last 5 games against TJM, but TJM leads the career series, 5-3.
  • This is the first ever playoff meeting between these two teams.
  • No team has ever dropped to 0-2 in championship games (i.e., every time a team has appeared in a second Super Bowl after losing one, they have won) — this is good news for TJM

2007_wk16_2.jpgWithout a single snap of an NFL game taking place, only this much is guaranteed: The PFFL Super Bowl will feature one team from the East and one from the West. Oh, and the 2007 PFFL champion will be a first time trophy holder, and the 9th different team to win the PFFL title.

In hot hot semi-final action this week:

2007_wk16.jpg(5) Post Mortem (8-7) at (1) The Jedi Masters (14-1)

  • Post Mortem was an upset winner in round 1, knocking off a tough Double D team
  • The Jedi Masters survived an uncharacteristically low-scoring affair with Winning Beer Money
  • These two teams have met twice before in the postseason. Both of those games were in the first round. In 2001, when the two teams were also both in the West division, Post was the division champ and beat the Jedis in round 1 after also beating them in week 14. In 2002, the Jedis crushed ‘Mortem in round 1 after beating PM in a non-division game in week 8.
  • Post Mortem handed the Jedis their only loss this year, waaaaaaay back in week 2.
  • Post Mortem is 1-2 in semi-final games.
  • The Jedi Masters are 1-3 in the semis.
  • Post Mortem currently leads the overall series against The Jedi Masters, 9-8.

2007_wk16_3.jpg(7) Sharp as a Bowling Ball (8-7) at (3) Kramerica Industries (8-7)

  • Kramerica was the highest scoring team in round 1, eliminating a surging TKD
  • SaaBB bounced back from a miserable late-season losing streak to knock off heavily favored SIAP last week
  • This is their first playoff meeting
  • Kramerica is only 1-5 against SaaBB all-time, with that win coming back in week 12. That victory ultimately was the key to KI’s surprise division championship.
  • Kramerica has never played in a playoff semi-final.
  • SaaBB is competing in their 6th week 16 matchup, but is only 1-5 in semi-final action.

Toilet Bowl

In the consolation bracket:

  • The Hip vs Duany Duany Tanning
  • Turd Ferguson vs Hedfullalicker

Merry Christmas from Nadia Styles and Ashley Fires (I guarantee those are stripper names)
