2010 Weeks 11 & 12 Recap

Posted on December 1, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Hopefully everyone had a great Thanksgiving with plenty of food, family, friends and football. Based solely on an incredibly inaccurate prediction regarding the Bears-Eagles game on Sunday, my PFFL team was not thanks-worthy. I think my bench would’ve won a lot of games this week though. Oh well… I think this is the good thing about playing in multiple leagues.

Week 11 Highlights

  • CSPJ won their 9th in a row with a sound beat down of Kramerica
  • Double D earned a season split with DDT in blowout fashion
  • The Hip threw a wrench in Hedfullalicker’s playoff preparations, earning a split of their season matchup in the process
  • Uh oh, is Camel Toe going to fade out of playoff contention again? TKD beat them this week to split their two-game division series this season
  • Post Mortem laid a turd and got beat by Turd Ferguson, who earned the season sweep
  • The Jedi Masters continued their late season run, winning their third in a row and beating SaaBB for the first time since 2007
  • Winning Beer Money extended their all-time series lead to 12-6 over SIAP

Not sure what was going on this week, but 3 of the 7 games featured teams getting their first win over an opponent in 6 years.

Week 12 Highlights

  • CSPJ simply cannot be stopped. Their 10th straight victory came over Hedfullalicker in a high-scoring matchup
  • Camel Toe won their first game ever over Double D, in three tries (all in even numbered years, oddly)
  • DDT had not beaten Winning Beer Money since 2004, but ended that losing streak in grand fashion, with a 152-83 blowout this week
  • The Hip needed every last decimal point this week to beat The Jedi Masters for the first time since week 12 of the 2004 season
  • Kramerica’s starters scored 68, Post Mortem’s starters scored 55, Post Mortem’s bench scored 98. Post Mortem sighed
  • Turd Ferguson earned their first win over SaaBB since 2004, and put themselves right back in the playoff hunt
  • SIAP got back to .500 with a season-split-earning win over Tappa Kegga Day in the 19th game of this long-time rivalry

PFFL Survivor

DDT bowed out of Survivor in week 11 with 85 points, by far the most for an eliminated team this season. In week 12, SaaBB picked the wrong week to struggle and was the final team eliminated from the island.

So it will be CSPJ and Double D in the Survivor finals. $100 to the winner, $40 to the loser in a two-week cumulative point showdown. CSPJ has twice been the Survivor runner-up, while Double D was a runner-up in the competition one time. One of them will get their first Survivor necklace.

Record/Milestone Watch

  • The Hip’s 0.28 point win over The Jedi Masters in week 12 goes down as the 5th closest game in PFFL history
  • CSPJ has 11 wins. Only 4 times has a team finished the season with more than that, highlighted by The Jedi Masters’ 13 victories in 2007
  • DDT joins a big list of teams who have notched 3 high point weeks in a season. Only 9 teams have acquired more than that, with three teams getting to 5.
  • CSPJ’s 10-game win streak is the fourth longest in league history and could still tie The Jedi Masters’ record 12-game streak from weeks 3-14 of the 2007 season.
  • CSPJ became the 4th team to score 10,000 points in all games (regular and playoff) in week 11
  • CSPJ became the 14th team (tied for 4th fastest) to score 5,000 points in division play in week 12

High Point Race

You can view the complete standings here, but all you really need to know is that CSPJ has a 142 point lead with 2 weeks left. It’s going to take something crazy to keep CSPJ from the cash here.

High Points Against Race

Camel Toe is leading the race for the bonus prize of having the most points scored against. The full list is here – with an 82 point lead, this one seems somewhat unlikely to change as well, but if anyone has CSPJ and DDT left on their schedule, they could move up

Playoff Hunt

There is a lot left to be determined for the final playoff spots, but a few things are certain:

  • CSPJ has won their division and will be the #1 seed
  • Tappa Kegga Day needs only one more win (or one loss by both SIAP and Camel Toe) to clinch a division crown and the #2 seed
  • Either Winning Beer Money or Turd Ferguson will win the Central division and likely #3 seed
  • No matter what else happens, Double D and TKD are in the playoffs
  • DDT is in the playoffs with a win or a Kramerica loss
  • SaaBB, The Jedi Masters, Post Mortem and The Hip stand on the brink of elimination. They need two wins and a bunch of help for a chance at postseason play.
  • There are 6 teams at 6-6 or 5-7. That’s way too many combinations for me to figure out right now.

Recap Babe

Sara Jaramillo is from Colombia and apparently likes grapes. She would like to congratulate CSPJ on their #1 seed and wish them the same good fortune that Post Mortem had the last two years in that position.

2010 Week 10 Recap

Posted on November 17, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Week 10 Highlights

  • CSPJ continued to be the hottest team in PFFL, winning their 8th in a row and defeating the only team that beat them this year (The Hip)
  • SIAP got back to .500 with a win over Double D
  • DDT crushed Camel Toe by 70+ to increase their all-time series lead to 3-1
  • Hedfullalicker cruised past Post Mortem to crawl back to .500
  • Tappa Kegga Day won their 3rd straight, demolishing Kramerica for the sixth time in their 8 all-time meetings
  • SaaBB beat Winning Beer Money for the seventh consecutive time in a series that hasn’t seen a WBM win since the final week of the 2006 season
  • The Jedi Masters have their first winning streak of the year, beating Turd Ferguson in the ugliest game of the week (scoring-wise). Turd hasn’t beaten the Jedis since 2004

PFFL Survivor

Despite a lack of wins this season, The Jedi Masters have impressively been staying alive in the Survivor competition. Unfortunately, their win this week also came at the expense of getting booted from the island. Immunity is no more, and we have our final four:

DDT, CSPJ, Double D and SaaBB

One of those four will take home $100, another will get $40. Two will get nothing but the joy of getting this far.

Record Watch

  • CSPJ’s 8-game win streak is tied for 6th longest streak in league history
  • Congratulations to Kramerica Industries who became the 12th team in PFFL history to score 10,000 regular season points. It was a 122 game journey for Kramer and crew, one game longer than TKD and 2 shy of WNFL, who took the longest to hit the mark
  • Tappa Kegga Day became the third PFFL squad to win 100 regular season games, joining Post Mortem and SIAP in this prestigious club
  • Double D recorded their 50th overall loss this week, making them the 14th team to hit the mark, and taking the longest (118 games) to get there (which is good)
  • With their high point performance this week, DDT became the ninth team in league history to record 10 high point weeks in their career
  • Michael Vick’s 55.65 point performance this week was the highest ever by any player since we started keeping player stats in PFFL (2004). He passes Adrian Peterson’s 50.5 point performance in week 9 of the 2007 season on this list.

Playoff Possibilities

  • We have our first playoff qualifier this week as CSPJ, and their 9-1 record, have locked up a spot
  • At 7-3, TKD and Double D are in fantastic shape and probably need only 1 more win to guarantee a playoff invite
  • At the other end of the list, The Hip sits on the brink of elimination at 2-8
  • Everyone else is still in the fight, particularly the four 5-5 teams and four 4-6 clubs. I imagine that list of 8 will get shuffled somewhat as we run the gauntlet here in the final four weeks of the season
  • The Central division race should be excited to watch as well. Much like the West divisions in the NFL, the Central champ could easily be a .500 team

2010 Week 8 & 9 Recap

Posted on November 15, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Week 8 Highlights

  • CSPJ won their sixth consecutive game this year and stopped a 4-game win streak by DDT in their series
  • Double D improved to 6-2 on the season and 8-3 overall against Kramerica
  • Winning Beer Money picked up their fourth straight victory and took an 8-7 all-time series lead against Hedfullalicker
  • The Hip picked up their 2nd win of the season by dropping SIAP to .500
  • Camel Toe and Turd Ferguson are both 4-4 after Toe got their 2nd-ever win over Turd
  • Tappa Kegga Day beat SaaBB, but still trails in their career matchup by 2 wins
  • Post Mortem crawled back to .500, beating long-time rivals The Jedi Masters for the third straight time in their series

Week 9 Highlights

  • CSPJ continued their impressive 2010 run, beating Post Mortem to win their 7th straight and improve to 8-1. This was CSPJ’s first win over Post since 2004
  • Double D completed a season sweep of The Hip, tying up their all-time matchup at 4 wins each
  • DDT snuck by Hedfullalicker, earning a split of division meetings this season and tying their career series at 7 wins a piece
  • Camel Toe is back above .500 after their first-ever (in six tries) victory over SaaBB
  • Kramerica took down SIAP for the first time since 2008, splitting their season series and putting both teams at 4-5
  • Tappa Kegga Day improved to 6-3 with a win over Turd Ferguson
  • The Jedi Masters picked up their second victory of the year as they continue to dominate Winning Beer Money to the tune of 10-3 all-time

PFFL Survivor

In week 8, CSPJ earned immunity and SIAP got the boot as the field was narrowed to 6 potential survivors.

In week 9, Hedfullalicker was the unlucky team to get kicked off the island. Meanwhile, SaaBB earned the final immunity of the season and is guaranteed a spot in the final four. Double D, The Jedi Masters, CSPJ and DDT will fight it out in week 10 to see who grabs the last three spots.

Reminder: As alluded to above, there is no more immunity once we are down to four teams. So, in weeks 11 and 12, it will be the lowest scoring team getting the boot. All leading up to the thrilling two-week finale in weeks 13-14.

Record Watch

  • CSPJ’s current 7-game win streak is tied for the 10th longest win streak in PFFL history. One more win and they’ll move into a tie for 6th, all on their way to threatening The Jedi Masters’ record 12-game win streak of 2007
  • Speaking of The Jedi Masters, their 6-game losing streak from weeks 3 through 8 ties them with a whole bunch of other teams for the 5th longest losing streak in league history
  • SaaBB suffered their 100th overall loss in week 8, Hedfullalicker acquired their 100th overall loss in week 9. They join The Hip as the only three league teams to have 100 losses

2010 Weeks 6 & 7 Recap

Posted on October 28, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

We are halfway through the PFFL season and this is maybe the 4th time I’ve updated this blog. Hey, still more than the number of wins my team has!

Week 6 Results

  • CSPJ beat Hedfullalicker for the first time since 2005, ending a streak of 6 Hedfull wins.
  • DDT beat Double D to increase their all-time lead to 6-2 in that series
  • In their 19th meeting all-time, SaaBB took down The Hip. The Bowling Balls lead the series 10-9.
  • It took five tries, but Kramerica finally notched a win over Camel Toe.
  • Turd Ferguson ended a five-game losing streak against SIAP, as both teams are now at .500.
  • Tappa Kegga Day tied their career series with The Jedi Masters at nine wins each
  • Winning Beer Money continue to hold the advantage in the career matchup with Post Mortem, winning this week to improve their overall record to 8-4.

Week 6 PFFL Survivor

Post Mortem is the latest team to get evicted from the PFFL island. Meanwhile, Duany Duany Tanning earned immunity and is safe for week 7.

Week 7 Results

  • CSPJ won their fifth straight game with a close win over SaaBB. The Smokers now lead this series 6-5-1
  • Double D handed The Jedi Masters their fifth consecutive loss of the year. The Jedis had beaten DD four straight times since their last loss in 2005.
  • The Hip also lost their fifth straight of the year, falling to DDT in their 15th meeting.
  • Hedfullalicker got their 5th win in 16 tries against Tappa Kegga Day. Both teams are now 4-3.
  • SIAP beat Camel Toe for the third straight time to move above .500 on the season.
  • Winning Beer Money beat Kramerica for the first time since 2006, but still trails the overall series 8-5.
  • Turd Ferguson crushed Post Mortem, ending PM’s 3-game win streak over Turd.

Week 7 PFFL Survivor

Duany Duany Tanning put their week 6 immunity to good use, coming in with the lowest score among the island dwellers but living to see week 8. Tappa Kegga Day, who scored 1.01 points more than DDT, unfortunately, was not so lucky and has been eliminated. Hedfullalicker has immunity for week 8.

Record/Milestone Watch

  • Camel Toe became the 16th team in PFFL history to record 5000 regular season points
  • Double D became the 13th team to record 5000 points in division action
  • Kramerica Industries became the 13th team in the league to win 50 regular season games. It took them 118 tries, just shorter than the 120 it took WNFL to hit the milestone.
  • CSPJ won their 50th regular season game to become the 14th squad to hit the mark, in 105 games.
  • Turd Ferguson scored their 15,000th regular season point in week 7, becoming the ninth PFFL team to hit the milestone
  • Hedfullalicker’s week 7 win was their 100th overall victory in their 199 career regular season and playoff games
  • WBM’s Darren McFadden had a 46.6 point performance in week 7, the most points ever scored by a player on a team’s bench in league history. Meanwhile, SaaBB benched Kenny Britt, who went off for 43.5, 6th most by a player on a bench ever.

2010 Weeks 4 & 5 Recap

Posted on October 12, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Sheesh, did I miss a week again? Ugh. Hopefully the video below makes you forget all about that. Seriously, go home, close yourself into a room and watch. Then curse Derek Jeter’s good fortune.

Week 4 Results

  • CSPJ improved to 3-1 with a 23 point win over Camel Toe. The win improves CSPJ to 5-2 all-time against the ‘Toe.
  • Double D won their third straight game, dropping Hedfullalicker for the 5th consecutive time. Hedfull’s only win over DD came in their first meeting, back in 2006.
  • DDT beat The Jedi Masters for the third straight time to knot their all-time series up at 5 wins each.
  • Turd Ferguson continued to dominate The Hip, running their all-time record to 10-5.
  • SIAP is now 9-2 all-time against Kramerica, including three wins in a row
  • Post Mortem entered the Monday night game needing a very very quiet night from Randy Moss to hold on for a win. Shockingly, Moss ended up with zero points and got traded later in the week. Meanwhile, ‘Mortem beat SaaBB for the 5th straight time to improve their series advantage to 10-4-1
  • Tappa Kegga Day destroyed Winning Beer Money by almost 70 points. This is TKD’s first win over WBM since 2007, but they have a lead in the career matchup, 10-8.

PFFL Survivor – Week 4

The TKD-WBM game featured both Survivor highlights for the week as TKD posted league high points and won immunity. On the other side of the coin, WBM got voted off.

minka-kelly-esquire-sexiest-01Week 5 Results

  • CSPJ improved to 4-1 by continuing a trend in their series with Turd Ferguson where the teams alternate wins.
  • Double D won their fourth straight with a narrow win over Post Mortem. The win ends a 3-game loss streak to PM for DD, and extends the DD series record to 9-4.
  • Hedfullalicker sneaked  by DDT in a high-scoring affair, and now leads the all-time matchup 7-6
  • Winning Beer Money handed The Hip their 3rd straight loss. It’s WBM’s second straight win over The Hip, but The Hip still leads the series, 7-6.
  • In one of the highest scoring games in league history, Camel Toe beat Tappa Kegga Day for the third consecutive time. Both teams are now 3-2.
  • Kramerica handed The Jedi Masters their third straight loss on the season. The Jedis can relax in the knowledge that they still have a two-game advantage in the all-time series.
  • In their 18th meeting in league history, SaaBB took down SIAP to move their series lead to 10-8.

PFFL Survivor – Week 5

Despite losing this week, Tappa Kegga Day was the highest scoring team left on the island and has immunity for the second straight week. Meanwhile, Turd Ferguson joined Kramerica, Camel Toe, The Hip and WBM in Eliminationville.

That girl up there? That’s current Survivor contestant Brenda, the former Dolphins cheerleader.

Record/Milestone Watch

  • Tappa Kegga Day’s 118.75 points in their week 5 loss to Camel Toe is the 7th highest point total in a loss ever
  • In week 4, Winning Beer Money became the 8th team in PFFL history to record 15,000 regular season points. They match SIAP as the fifth fastest teams to reach the milestone, requiring only 172 games
  • Double D recorded their 10,000th overall point in week 5
  • Kramerica recorded their 10,000th overall point in week 4
  • The Hip’s week 4 loss was their 100th regular season loss. They are the only PFFL team to have lost this many regular season games, and will remain so until at least 2011 as the next closest team, Tappa Kegga Day, is only at 90 losses

2010 Week 3 Recap

Posted on September 30, 2010 by Post Mortem
No comments

Week 3 of the PFFL season is in the books and [oh, wait, looks like the Packers just got whistled for another penalty]. Boy, that Monday night game was brutal, which also happens to be what my personal fantasy football weekend looked like as I lost in just about all of my leagues. That includes losing to my youngest sister who doesn’t watch football at all (She actually still had Moreno in her starting lineup) in my nephew’s 8-team Yahoo auto-draft league. Granted, there’s no financial stakes involved there, but I’m 0-3 in a league with family members who know I play in 8-10 leagues a year. It’s somewhat humiliating.

In PFFL, this season is shaping up to be a good one. Everyone is either 2-1 or 1-2, meaning there won’t be any races for “best start” or “worst start” to a season going on. Of the 1-2 teams, I am happy to report that The Jedi Masters would be the final playoff qualifier if the season ended today.

Week 3 Highlights

  • CSPJ beat The Jedi Masters for the third straight time, improving their all-time record against TJM to 5-4
  • Double D beat The Hip for the first time since 2007 in a low-scoring affair
  • DDT picked up their first win of the year and improved their career advantage over TKD to 9-5
  • SIAP held Hedfullalicker at bay and improved their all-time series lead to 6-3. Unless they meet in the playoffs, this means it will be at least 10 years between wins over SIAP for Hed.
  • Camel Toe beat Post Mortem in a tight game that came down to Monday night. Camel now leads this series 3-2.
  • Kramerica picked up their first win of the season in a high-scoring battle with SaaBB.
  • Winning Beer Money continued to dominate Turd Ferguson, improving to 13-2 all-time!

msg-128580749186-3

Week 3 Records/Milestones

  • SIAP joined Post Mortem as the only two teams in PFFL history with 100 regular season wins.
  • Kramerica won their 50th overall game (regular + post- season)
  • Kramerica’s win was also their 25th division win ever. Of the teams who have reached that milestone, it took Kramerica the longest (64 games)
  • Turd Ferguson became the third team to lose 50 division games
  • CSPJ’s high point week is only their second all-time

PFFL Survivor – Week 3

The Hip stumbled to a 50 point performance this week and was promptly booted from the island.

Meanwhile, CSPJ recorded high points for the week and grabbed immunity for week 4.

That girl over there on the right? That’s Yve Rojas, one of the contestants on this season of Survivor. She’s 41, so she’s on the “old” tribe. Too bad Shannon’s gone, or he could’ve asked her if she was a MILF.

2010 Week 1-2 Recap

Boy, I have to apologize. All Many Some A couple None of you have been complaining about the lack of blog updates since the start of the PFFL season. So, it’s about time I jump back in to fill the void in your fantasy football lives with PFFL history talk and hot pictures.

Week 1 Highlights

  • After getting swept in two meetings (one regular season, one postseason) last year, CSPJ beat Double D.
  • Turd Ferguson now has a 6-3 all-time lead over DDT. DDT has not defeated Turd since 2006.
  • Hedfullalicker beat The Hip for the fourth straight time to even their career matchup at 9 wins each.
  • Camel Toe beat The Jedi Masters for the 2nd time in three games. Despite their recent woes, the Jedis still own a 4-2 lead in this series.
  • Tappa Kegga Day and Kramerica met for the first time since 2008, with TKD doing the same thing they did twice that year: winning. Kramerica hasn’t beaten TKD in the regular season since their first meeting, 2002, week 3.
  • Post Mortem defeated Winning Beer Money for only the fourth time in 11 tries, and the first time since 2007.
  • SIAP inched past SaaBB by less than a point, avenging their blowout loss in last year’s championship game.

Week 1 Records/Milestones

  • Turd Ferguson’s 129.93 points is the 6th most ever in opening week
  • TKD’s 47.28 point win over Kramerica is the biggest blowout in week 1 since 2007
  • SIAP’s 0.68 point win over SaaBB is the closest victory ever in week 1 (there was a tie, back in 2003)
  • Arian Foster’s 44.8 points is the most by a player in week 1 during the PFFL player stats era
  • The Hip joined Hedfullalicker as the only two teams in PFFL history to have 50 division losses

PFFL Survivor – Week 1

Kramerica’s 44.77 points in week 1 earns them the honor of being the first team booted from the 2010 edition of PFFL Survivor.

Meanwhile, Turd Ferguson grabbed high points for the week and the week 2 immunity that goes with it.

ines.sainz-bikiniWeek 2 Highlights

  • After suffering a season sweep at the hands of CSPJ last year, The Hip took game 1 of their series in 2010.
  • Double D defeated Winning Beer Money for the third straight time, and 7th time in 9 meetings.
  • In week 13 last year, DDT beat Post Mortem by 4.47 points. Post returned the favor this week with a 2.97 point victory, extending their all-time lead in the series to 7-4.
  • Hedfullalicker last lost to Kramerica in 2005, and wasted no time improving their career mark over KI to 6-2.
  • SaaBB continues to dominate Camel Toe, improving to 5-0.
  • The Jedi Masters took home the weekly high points award with a blowout win over Turd Ferguson. A season sweep by TJM in division play later this season would knot this series up at 5 wins each.
  • In the 18th game in this storied rivalry, Tappa Kegga Day notched a 10-point victory over SIAP. The all-time matchup is all even, with each team holding 9 wins.

Week 2 Records/Milestones

  • The Jedi Masters became only the fifth team in PFFL history to win 100 overall games (regular and post- season). It took them 184 games to reach the milestone, tied with Tappa Kegga Day for third fastest.
  • SaaBB won their 50th division game all-time, and is the sixth team to achieve this milestone
  • CSPJ recorded their 25th division loss, and is now tied with Double D as the sixth fastest teams to the mark (taking 52 games to lose 25)
  • They didn’t need the points to win this week, but Hedfullalicker had to be squirming when they saw Jahvid Best rack up 44.2 points, while sitting on their bench. In the PFFL player stat era, this is second only to DDT’s benching of the Seahawk defense’s 46-point performance in week 13 of the 2005 season.

PFFL Survivor – Week 2

Turd Ferguson’s immunity was almost required this week, as they scored the second fewest points among the remaining teams. As it turned out, however, Camel Toe’s 68.74 points earned them the boot.

Meanwhile, The Jedi Masters secured their 13th all-time high scoring week and hold immunity for week 3.

ines-sainz-New-York-JetsLooking Ahead to Week 3

  • SIAP will try once again to become only the second team in PFFL history to win 100 regular season games
  • Winning Beer Money will close in further on 15,000 career regular season points. In fact, a 155 point performance would get them there in spectacular fashion.
  • Turd Ferguson doesn’t want to hit this milestone, but a loss this week to Winning Beer Money would give Turd 50 division losses.
  • The Jedi Masters will try to end a 2-game losing streak against CSPJ
  • The Hip looks to extend their 2-game win streak over Double D
  • The 14th all-time meeting between DDT and Tappa Kegga Day will be the earliest they’ve ever met in a season
  • Hedfullalicker will try to beat SIAP for the first time since 2001
  • Someone is going to take the lead in the series between Camel Toe and Post Mortem, currently stuck at two wins a piece.
  • Kramerica and SaaBB meet for the 13th time in a series that SaaBB leads 7-5
  • Winning Beer Money looks for their first win of the season against Turd Ferguson, a foe they have dominated to the tune of a 12-2 all-time advantage

2008 Championship Recap + Franchise Ratings [Doutzen Kroes]

Posted on December 29, 2008 by Post Mortem
No comments

(Pending stat changes of course) Tappa Kegga Day prevailed over SIAP in the closest championship game in PFFL History this weekend. Just like the NFL’s setting of the playoff table, this game wasn’t decided until the Sunday night game was played. In addition, the Franchise Ratings have been updated, and we now have FOUR 5-star franchises. Read on for the details.

07265_025_122_736loChampionship Result

  • #3 seeded Tappa Kegga Day beat #8 seed SIAP, 79.09 – 78.17. SIAP set the perfect lineup, but their second highest scoring player was their backup QB and they received subpar performances from several players who had helped them get to this point. Brandon Jabobs’ injury didn’t help either. TKD was led by Marques Colston and Jason Campbell, and was able to pull off the win despite leaving a bunch of points on the bench. The all-time series between these two clubs is now tied at 8 wins each, but TKD holds a 2-0 advantage in the postseason (both championship games), which is where it really counts. This is also the first time since 1998 that the winning team didn’t score 80 points. SIAP is now 12-6 in the postseason, including 2-2 in championship games. Similarly, TKD is 11-5 in the playoffs and an identical 2-2 in championships.

Championship Record Watch

  • With a 0.92 point victory margin, this was the closest Super Bowl in league history. It’s worth noting that the 6 closest championships have occurred in the last 6 years, and this is the 3rd time in 4 years that the big game was decided by fewer than 2 points.
  • Matt Schaub’s 27.4 point performance is the 3rd highest individual player performance in a Super Bowl in the player stats era (2004-present)
  • The combined point total of 157.26 makes this the fourth lowest scoring championship game ever.
  • SIAP’s 78.17 and TKD’s 79.09 are the 9th and 10th lowest point totals in championship history, respectively.
  • TKD now has 11 postseason wins, one behind SIAP’s record 12.
  • TKD’s .688 playoff winning percentage is 4th best overall and tops among active teams. SIAP is right behind, at .667.
  • TKD joins SIAP and The Hip as the only three franchises in PFFL history to win two championships. And yeah… those three teams have won half of the 12 championships to-date.
  • TKD won its 100th overall (regular season + playoffs) this week and is the third team to do so.

Toilet Bowl Result

  • The Jedi Masters captured their first ever Toilet Bowl championship, beating The Hip.

Franchise Ratings

View the Franchise Ratings

  • Only twice before had a team reached a perfect 100.0 (the max) on the franchise rating scale. SIAP was the first to hit the mark following their championship season in 2004 and The Jedi Masters hit the mark last year. Well, four teams are rated perfectly today. TKD’s championship run, Post Mortem’s winning season, The Jedi Masters’ high points mark and SIAP’s second place finish (combined with their strong ratings to-date) rank all four as the most valuable franchises in the league.
  • DDT surpassed Double D as the fifth most highly rated team in the league — both are four star franchises
  • SaaBB’s division championship added a full star to their rating, while The Hip basically held steady and Winning Beer Money lost a half star.
  • Hedfullalicker had a great season and is certainly a team on the upswing value-wise, but their lack of playoff success has them right in the middle with 2.5 stars.
  • Turd Ferguson and Kramerica Industries both gained a half star, giving their stockholders reason to be optomistic.
  • At the bottom, Camel Toe and CSPJ both achieved the lowest possible scores and are zero-star franchises.

The 2008 PFFL Championship game opponents are now set. The two teams with the most league championship appearances in the league added to their total to the dismay of two teams who have never seen their names engraved on the trophy.

08253_kristen_bell_outtakes_complex_big_122_1177loSemifinal Results

  • (8) SIAP 129.54 def (5) Turd Ferguson 104.83 > SIAP continued its impressive postseason, with 7 of 8 players in double digits this week. It all started with Jones-Drew and Wayne on Thursday night, continued with Jacobs’ 3 TDs on Sunday night and concluded with a two turnover/one block Monday night performance from the Bears’ D. For Turd Ferguson, they played like the game was over after Thursday when Garrard and Dallas Clark staked them to an early lead. With Bowe, Andre Johnson and AP all coming up small, however, Turd’s chance at a championship appearance vanished. SIAP now has a 3-game win streak against Turd, and leads the overall series, 10-6.
  • (3) Tappa Kegga Day 91.53 def (2) Sharp as a Bowling Ball 53.78 > For the second straight week, TKD stayed alive largely due to a fortunate matchup, although at least the winning score this week was a little more respectable. TKD had Joseph Addai in the lineup on Thursday, and his gooseegg certainly wasn’t a good start, but solid, double digit performances from 6 of his 7 other players on Sunday made up for the rough start. Meanwhile, SaaBB was in trouble from the moment that Anquan Boldin was announced as “out” and got worse when Kurt Warner was completely ineffective in the snow and subsequently benched. Those two players had single-handedly gotten SaaBB to this point, so missing even a “good” performance from each of them spelled disaster. TKD’s win was a mark of revenge for a loss 3 weeks ago during the regular season. SaaBB still holds the overall series advantage at 9-6, but TKD has a 2-0 record over SaaBB in the playoffs.

Playoff Record Watch

  • SIAP’s current record of 12 postseason wins is safe at least until the 2009 playoffs. TKD is second on the list with 10.
  • SaaBB ties Post Mortem’s mark of 9 postseason losses (the result of similar playoff success — 9 of 12 years in the postseason, 0 championships)
  • Both SIAP and TKD will be making their fourth championship game appearance, a league record given that no other team has made it more than twice.
  • Turd Ferguson became only the 7th team in PFFL history to accumulate 1000 postseason points
  • SIAP’s 129.54 point performance is the 9th highest score in postseason history
  • SaaBB’s 53.78 point output is the 8th lowest score in the PFFL playoffs
  • After participating in a postseason record-setting performance for combined high points last week, Turd Ferguson is on the list again in 4th place this week, as the SIAP-Turd battle totaled 234.37 points
  • Turd’s 104.83 points is the 5th highest score in a losing postseason effort
  • Turd’s 123.17 points-per-game average in the 2008 postseason is the 4th highest average score in PFFL playoff history

Toilet Bowl Results

  • The Jedi Masters beat Double D for their first ever Toilet Bowl win
  • The Hip beat Winning Beer Money and now owns a 6-1 Toilet Bowl record

2008 Playoff Week 1 Recap [Tamara Witmer]

Posted on December 16, 2008 by Post Mortem
No comments

Well, personally, this was an awful week for me in fantasy football. After making the playoffs in 6 of my 10 leagues (5 of 6 with cash money involved), I am now done in all of them. Like the Packers. Lame.

83110_08-lrg_123_59loPlayoff Week 1 Results

  • (8) SIAP took out (1) Post Mortem and is now 2-0 against PM in the postseason. This also continued a trend started in 2005. In the last six meetings between these clubs, the winner has alternated from the previous meeting. SIAP now leads the all-time series, 8-7. Post Mortem now has a 5-9 postseason record, including 5 first round eliminations. SIAP improves to 11-5 in playoff action, including an impressive 6-2 in round 1.
  • (2) SaaBB held on to defeat (7) Kramerica Industries, ending a 3-game KI win streak in their all-time series, which SaaBB now leads, 6-3. Kramerica is 2-3 all-time in the postseason, while SaaBB is now 9-8, with only one first-round loss in 9 postseason appearances.
  • (3) Tappa Kegga Day beat (6) DDT in a low-scoring affair. Of the eight playoff teams, these two teams had the lowest scores this week. Seeds matter. This was TKD’s second straight win over DDT after a loss back in week 6, but DDT still leads the overall matchup, 7-5. The postseason series is knotted up at 1-1. DDT is 4-6 in the playoffs, including 3-3 in the first round. TKD improves to 9-5 in the playoffs and is in the second round for the first time since 2005.
  • (5) Turd Ferguson upset (4) Hedfullalicker in the highest-scoring matchup of the week. In fact, this game had the two highest scoring teams of the 8 playoff qualifiers. Again, seeds matter. After a week 1 loss, Turd has now won two straight against Hedfull, and the overall series is now tied, 7-7. Hedfullalicker is now a dismal 2-8 in the playoffs, including first round elimination in seven of his eight postseason appearances. Turd improves to 5-6 in the postseason, including a 4-3 record in round 1.

Playoff Record Watch

  • SIAP’s 11th playoff win extends their record number of playoff wins. SaaBB and TKD are now tied for 2nd with 9 wins each.
  • Post Mortem now has more playoff losses than any other team in PFFL history, with 9. SaaBB needs a championship run to avoid tying that mark this year, while Hedfullalicker is comfortably in 2nd place with 8.
  • Turd Ferguson’s 141.51 point output this week is the 6th highest in postseason history.
  • The matchup between Turd and Hedfullalicker set a new postseason mark for most combined points, with 254.72.
  • The TKD-DDT total score of 140.42 is the 10th lowest ever in a playoff game.
  • TKD’s 76.15 points are the 6th lowest in a playoff win
  • Hedfullalicker’s 113.21 is the 2nd highest score in a playoff loss

Toilet Bowl

  • Double D beat CSPJ by 0.36 points to advance to the semi-finals against The Jedi Masters
  • Winning Beer Money beat Camel Toe by almost 15 to advance to play The Hip
