I was originally going to schedule this to come out sometime on New Years Day. Then I realized you were all a bunch of drunks and would be too hungover to read it. And those of you who aren’t, are like, dads and stuff, so you might enjoy some of these links tonight when your wife and kids are asleep at 9:00. I guarantee the pictures they lead to are better looking than Ryan Seacrest and Carson Daly.
SIAP vs SaaBB – SIAP is appearing in a record 5th championship game, and is back in the finale for the second straight year. SaaBB is making only their second ever title game appearance. No team in PFFL history has ever lost their first two championship games (i.e., every team that loses in the title game and makes it back wins that second time around).
SIAP will become either the first team in league history to win three championships, or the first team to lose three championships.
- (3) SIAP vs (5) SaaBB > Last year’s championship was a rematch of the 1998 title game. This week’s championship game is a rematch of the 2000 PFFL title game. So, we are pretty much ending the decade just like we started it. SIAP beat SaaBB in that game 9 seasons ago, 134-94. SaaBB owns a playoff win over SIAP, that coming in the first round of the postseason in 2007. Overall, SaaBB owns a slim 8-7 advantage over the Pissers. As division mates this season, they split their season series. SIAP beat SaaBB by 21 in week 2, and SaaBB returned the favor with a 48-point butt kicking in week 12. SIAP is trying to remain perfect in postseason play when they are the division champs from the West division. Their two championships came in 2000 and 2004, when they were also West Division titlists. SIAP has also never lost a playoff game as the #3 seed. For SaaBB, this is their first #5 seed, so that streak of perfection is also on the line.
