Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen

Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free ProductivityI don’t read a ton of business, self-help or for that matter, non-fiction, books. After seeing numerous examples of tools based on the concepts of this book, however, I decided to give it a shot.

I’m only three chapters in, and I’ll say this: I’m totally hooked. I think I’m now freakishly committed to putting this stuff into action. I mean, I’m actually trying to figure out how to finish reading the thing quickly so I don’t start implementing ideas without reading the whole book. And I realize that in many ways, that’s ridiculous.

So, anyway, I recommend the book to anyone who has difficulty organizing their work or personal life. Especially if you often find yourself trying to work on something, but thinking about three other projects or tasks — since that is me all the time and is addressed in the first 15 pages of this book (the point where the hook took hold and the reeling in started).

Of course, the real test will be how organized I am in 6 months…
