I was of the understanding that a lot of the superstition started because of the way the catholic church and the french offed the leader of the Knights Templar on Friday the 13th in like 1200AD or so. I thought the rest is just coincidence and superstition because of what happened on that day in the past. But, you know, I could be wrong, I like to blame Catholics for lots of things, organized religion in general actually.
Well, it seems like part of it probably IS influenced by that, but maybe not enough to form the basis for Dan Brown’s next novel.
