Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 2) Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

My review

rating: 2 of 5 stars
Charlaine Harris’ writing improved a little from the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, but I still only rate the book as ‘ok’. There was very little mystery in the plot — most questions were answered almost immediately after they were presented. It also seems like this book was yet another attempt to introduce some characters for later usage in the series, without providing any real hints as to why they needed to be a part of this book.

On the plus side, this is a pretty darn quick read, and it gives me some hope about the 2nd season of True Blood.

Dan is out of town again, so I took a stab at another column on the SportsBubbler’s daily blog. This one was the Afternoon Delight/Weekend Six Pack feature.

Brewer fans today celebrated the pending financial bailout by loading up on Brewer gear. This was the scene at the Miller Park retail store at noon today.

Delayed

So we get to the airport for our flight to New York and sure enough we’re delayed by 35 minutes. Probably not a big deal since we are landing during rush hour no matter what, but delays in airports are never ever fun.

My current TV setup

September 18th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Filed in General

On Monday night, slightly before DeSean Jackson of the Eagles made his boneheaded play, I heard a slight “popping” sound and looked up from my computer. What did I see? Well, my 50 inch tv had gone dark.

I knew immediately what had happened: the bulb in my dlp setup had finally burnt out. I guess I should be happy that I got a full five years of life out of it.

So I currently have a 27 inch NON-HD television set in my living room, while I await delivery of my new bulb in 1-7 days.

Sounds like the perfect time to leave town for a few days. :)
